What you'll do...Role summary:
The Senior Software Engineer will lead the delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative teams, ensuring alignment with platform and business objectives. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions using multiple programming languages and modern development practices. The engineer will integrate AI/ML components, drive continuous improvement, and support operational excellence through proactive monitoring and debugging. Strong technical judgment, effective collaboration, and a product-driven mindset are essential to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable systems that meet stakeholder needs and advance Walmart’s technology goals.
About the team:
The Global Seller Support team develops scalable, AI-powered platforms and automation to enhance Walmart Marketplace support worldwide. Utilizing cloud-native technologies and Generative AI, the team addresses complex challenges with modern engineering practices. Focused on delivering reliable, high-impact products, it supports one of the largest eCommerce ecosystems globally. Emphasizing continuous improvement, technical excellence, and innovation, the team ensures solutions meet evolving business and customer needs. Prioritizing quality, scalability, and performance, the team drives meaningful impact across the platform while fostering collaboration and maintaining a product-driven mindset.
What you'll do:
  • Define the technical strategy and architecture for large-scale Marketplace Support platforms.
  • Lead the design and implementation of AI/LLM-powered agentic workflows and intelligent automation.
  • Build resilient, scalable, and observable distributed systems handling millions of seller interactions.
  • Drive engineering excellence through architecture reviews, design standards, and technical mentorship.
  • Partner with Product, Data Science, and Operations to translate business problems into scalable platform capabilities.
  • Influence engineering roadmaps across multiple organizations and lead cross-functional technical initiatives.
  • Champion platform reliability, performance, security, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements and measurable success metrics.

What you'll bring:
  • Extensive experience in platform engineering leadership, delivering scalable, cloud-native architectures and reusable tooling.
  • Proven ability to drive full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and incident response.
  • Expertise in designing distributed systems optimized for real-time data processing and AI/ML integration.
  • Strong technical judgment with a focus on architectural decision-making and long-term system evolution.
  • Proficiency in AI agents, model-driven design, and cloud computing architecture.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring engineers and fostering engineering excellence.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
