What you'll do...Role summary:
As a Software Engineer III, you will lead the design and development of scalable software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective resolutions to enhance system performance. This role involves managing projects from requirements gathering through coding, testing, and deployment while ensuring adherence to quality and security standards. You will also provide technical guidance to small engineering groups and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, driving innovation and delivering high-value solutions aligned with business objectives.

Our team delivers essential screening and compliance solutions that support Walmart Marketplace’s growth by enabling legitimate sellers and preventing fraudulent activities. We develop reliable, scalable software that safeguards the platform and its users. Members engage in full lifecycle development—from design through deployment—ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with business goals. What you'll do:

• Collaborate with product, project, business, and user experience teams to define high-level design and technical solutions for projects.
• Develop, test, and maintain code ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements, security policies, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production and business issues through root cause analysis and coordinated action plans.
• Lead small to medium-sized projects by managing requirements, researching alternatives, and delivering sustainable solutions on time.
• Support users by providing technical guidance and identifying short- and long-term solutions.
• Mentor and guide small engineering teams, including offshore associates, to meet project goals.
• Implement automation scripts and telemetry features to enhance continuous integration and delivery processes.

What you'll bring:

• Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and platform design with strong technical acumen.
• Experience in iterative and incremental development, including continuous integration and delivery practices.
• Proficiency in API design, component services, and debugging complex software issues.
• Ability to develop and execute test strategies, including automation and root cause analysis.
• Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivery and quality standards.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies, including generative artificial intelligence, and software documentation best practices.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
