About the Role
We're seeking an experienced UX Researcher to lead critical research initiatives that will directly impact our customers and the business. This contract position offers the opportunity to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive measurable business outcomes through user-centered research.

What You’ll Do

Lead Strategic Research Initiatives

  • Drive research for key business priorities.
  • Facilitate research kickoff sessions with stakeholders to align on objectives and success metrics.
  • Plan, conduct, and analyze research studies, including usability testing, interviews, and surveys.

Own the Research Process End-to-End

  • Create screeners to ensure we’re talking to the right participants.
  • Manage participant relationships from initial contact through study completion.
  • Analyze and synthesize data from interviews and surveys to identify themes, insights, and implications.
  • Contribute to our research operations and knowledge management practices.

Collaborate and Communicate Impact

  • Collaborate with designers, PMs, and other cross-functional teammates to translate insights into product improvements.
  • Create clear, story-driven research reports that inform product decisions.
  • Present findings to audiences ranging from individual contributors to executive leadership.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master's or PhD degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Sociology, Statistics, or related field

Experience & Skills

  • 2-3 years of professional UX research experience with a portfolio demonstrating both qualitative and quantitative research projects.
  • Proven experience with user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and data analysis.
  • Strong participant recruitment and management capabilities.
  • Experience working with mobile applications and digital products.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with remote teams.

Research Expertise

  • Strong in qualitative methods (interviews, ethnography, diary studies).
  • Proficiency quantitative skills (survey design, statistical analysis).
  • Experience with research tools (UserInterviews.com, Maze, UserTesting, SPSS, SurveyMonkey)

Communication & Collaboration

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience presenting research findings to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

Success Metrics
