Job Title: UX Designer - Site Optimization Specialist

Location: San Francisco – 4 days onsite, option of 1 day remote per week

Overview:

Our client is seeking a UX Designer with a passion for optimizing web experiences through data-driven insights and a focus on enhancing individual site components. This role will directly contribute to the continuous improvement of our digital platforms, working on incremental design changes that lead to impactful customer experiences. The ideal candidate will have a background in Human Factors, experience in B2C e-commerce, and a track record of utilizing A/B testing and user research to drive design decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user behavior and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement on our e-commerce website.
  • Develop and execute A/B tests and rapid iterations based on data and customer feedback.
  • Focus on refining individual site components (such as buttons, forms, and navigation elements) for better user interaction and conversion rates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, and Engineering, to ensure that design changes align with business goals.
  • Conduct usability testing and heuristic evaluations to gather actionable insights for continuous site optimization.
  • Utilize your knowledge of Human Factors to ensure designs are accessible, intuitive, and enhance overall user satisfaction.
  • Present findings and design recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner to inform decision-making at the highest levels.
  • Work closely with the analytics team to interpret data and translate insights into design improvements.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of UX design experience with a focus on site optimization, preferably in a B2C retail environment.
  • Strong proficiency in A/B testing, usability testing, and iterative design processes.
  • Proven experience with data-driven design, leveraging insights to refine and optimize web experiences.
  • Background in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
  • Expertise with Figma.
  • Excellent presentation skills to effectively communicate insights and design solutions to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate design rationale and collaborate with non-design stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in e-commerce environments.
  • Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to better collaborate with engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of Agile or Lean methodologies.
