Role

What this role is

This role is for designers who want to shape an entire product from the ground up and grow quickly in both craft and influence. You will define the product’s look and feel, user experience, and interaction patterns that enable customers to go from idea to production at high speed. You will work side by side with engineering to ensure that designs ship quickly and at a level of quality that represents a premium and aspirational brand. You will operate with independence, clear thinking, and a strong problem solving mindset.

How you will operate
  • Translate vague product goals into clear flows

  • Move quickly from exploration to polished design

  • Designs with engineering in mind, creating systems that are easy to understand, build, and maintain

  • Talking with users and testing designs to uncover insights and refine solutions

  • Create component libraries and design systems that increase leverage across the team

  • Push for clarity, simplicity, and delight in every user touchpoint

  • Work with autonomy, communicate decisions well, and take ownership of outcomes

  • Uphold and evolve a premium visual identity that reflects the brand’s ambition

Primary outcomes

Your success will be defined by:

1. High quality shipped design work
Engineering is never blocked by design and the product consistently feels premium, simple, and delightful.

2. Clear and scalable design systems
A component library and set of interaction patterns that increase team velocity and make it easy for others to contribute to design over time.

3. User centered problem solving
Design decisions are grounded in research, testing, and a deep understanding of user needs, leading to experiences that feel intuitive.

Required background
  • Three to eight years of design experience primarily on product teams

  • Has owned both UX and UI as a sole or primary designer for a product

  • Strong proficiency with Figma and modern design workflows

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate design choices clearly and defend decisions

  • Experience running or contributing to user research and usability testing

Nice to have
  • Experience as the first designer at a startup

  • Experience working on AI or LLM powered products

Why this role matters

This is a foundational design role in a product where velocity and quality are both critical. You will directly influence how people create with AI and you will help define a brand and experience that feels premium, fast, and aspirational. You will grow quickly by working on hard problems, collaborating closely with engineering, and owning the full design process from concept to production.

In all roles

We look for:

Intense. Ship fast. Cycles are hours, not weeks. Hard to outwork.

Ownership. Grab the #1 priority and relentless to deliver.

Fearlessness. Risk on. Do the unknown / uncomfortable. Say "good" to bad news.

Taste. Obsess over quality. Know what “great” looks like. No slop.

Play. Curiosity, joy, and energy.

Sound like you?

Come do the most meaningful work of your career.
