About the Opportunity


This role sits at the intersection of the Lattice FPGA Business Unit and Applications Engineering. Applications Engineering is the technical bridge between our silicon and firmware platform and the customer solutions that hyperscalers, ODMs, OEMs, and industrial customers deploy at scale. As a senior leader in this role, you own the applications and customer enablement capabilities that convert silicon and firmware into customer-shipping designs. You partner with the Corporate Vice President for Solutions R&D and PLM, AMI firmware leadership, the FPGA Business Unit, and Central Engineering to deliver the next generation of Lattice programmable platforms.



The Role


As the Vice President for Applications Engineering, you lead a global multi-site organization spanning Verification, Applications Engineering, Customer Enablement, and Customer Support. You are the senior technical leader responsible for the applications capabilities, customer engagement, and technical enablement that scale Lattice products and accelerate customer adoption.


Key Responsibilities


Applications Engineering


  • Own the global Applications Engineering organization delivering reference designs, technical enablement collateral, evaluation kits, and hands-on customer engagement across all Lattice product families and Solutions BU pillars.
  • Own the technical customer engagement model from pre-sales through design-in through production ramp for hyperscaler, ODM, OEM, and industrial customer segments.
  • Own the Applications Engineering methodology for standardized customer qualification, including firmware type, boot and trust configuration, and target platform.


Customer Enablement and Support

  • Own Customer Enablement including developer collateral, sample delivery, evaluation platforms, and technical training programs.
  • Own Customer Support strategy and delivery across product families in partnership with regional Field Applications Engineering.


Team Leadership and Site Locality


  • Lead a global multi-site organization across Penang, San Jose, Hillsboro, and Taipei. 
  • Hire, mentor, and promote senior technical leaders and individual contributors at each site.
  • Maintain deep working credibility with Lattice Programmable Group (LPG) team members, LSV and LPQ team members, and other Lattice R&D sites.

Executive Partnership


  • Partner with the Vice President for Solutions R&D and PLM, FPGA Business Unit leadership, AMI firmware leadership, Central Engineering, and Corporate functions.
  • Represent Applications Engineering in Executive Leadership Team discussions.
  • Own the operating budget and headcount plan for the function in coordination with Finance and the SVP R&D.

Pay & Benefits

Consistent with Lattice Semiconductor values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location.  Please note that the base pay range is a guideline, and our compensation range reflects the cost of labor in the U.S. geographic market based on the location of the role. Pay within these ranges varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant work experience. 

For candidates who receive and offer, the starting salary will vary based on various factors including, but not limited to, such qualifications as, skill level, competencies, and work location.  The range provided may represent a candidate range and may not reflect the full range for an individual tenured employee.

Base Pay Range

309202.96

In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for variable/ incentive compensation and/ or equity.  In addition, this role is eligible for a comprehensive, competitive benefits package which may include healthcare and retirement plans, paid time off, and more!
