VP Chief Of Staff, Americas Mobility

Location: Remote ( Prefer Eastern USA)

Job Summary: 

This role will work closely with the COO Americas for Mobility (OTR, NA Fleet, Merchant and Partner, and Growth Businesses), and Corporate Payments on a wide range of high-impact initiatives that are critical to the performance and long-term success of the business. As a strategic partner to the COO, the Chief of Staff will serve as an extension of the executive, helping to drive alignment, focus, and the cross-functional orchestration required for others to execute effectively across a complex, multi-line-of-business organization.

This is a highly visible role with enterprise-wide impact, responsible for enhancing decision-making, strengthening operating rigor, and improving the speed and efficiency of execution across the Americas organization. Acting as a force multiplier for the COO, the Chief of Staff will help translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, ensure accountability across leadership teams, and proactively identify and remove obstacles to progress.

The Chief of Staff will operate with a high degree of autonomy, owning and driving a portfolio of cross-functional projects, leading critical analyses, and shaping the narrative around key business priorities for both internal and external stakeholders. The role will also play a central role in executive governance, including leadership team cadence, strategic planning processes, and preparation for board-level discussions where applicable.

As a core member of the leadership team, the Chief of Staff will actively participate in senior forums, bringing a synthesized, enterprise-level perspective to discussions and helping to connect insights across functions and business units. The role requires strong judgment, executive presence, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution, ensuring that the COO’s agenda is effectively advanced across all areas of the business.

A successful Chief of Staff will: 

  • Ensure key priorities, projects and initiatives are being executed by the appropriate business units, maintaining focus and realizing progress through structured follow-up.

  • Direct line of sight across the organization highlighting key metrics, goal execution and organizational health, financial targets, talent development, customer satisfaction, market presence & competitor analysis and innovation agenda

  • Engage in effective, open and collaborative conversations among the Americas leadership team centered around performance, opportunities, challenges, and inter-dependencies.

  • Present complex data and organizational challenges in a synthesized digestible format that drives rapid executive decision making.

  • Represent the COO, Americas in various forums externally, as requested

Responsibilities include: 

1. Strategic Orchestration & Alignment

  • Facilitate the strategic planning process, ensuring functional leaders provide the necessary inputs to build a cohesive Americas roadmap that ladders up to WEX’s global priorities.

  • Design and lead cross-functional forums to ensure the organization remains focused on the most critical workstreams.

2. Governance & Operational Rigor

  • Establish Americas’ organization reporting standards and synthesize data from business units into executive scorecards and dashboards.

  • Manage the "Rhythm of the Business," including materials and routines for Board of Directors updates, Monthly Operating Reviews, and Investor meetings.

3. Executive Leverage & Efficiency

  • Maximize the COO’s impact by triaging incoming requests, delegating tactical issues to functional leads, and ensuring the COO is briefed only on high-leverage strategic decisions.

  • Coordinate high-impact customer or partner interactions, ensuring the appropriate subject matter experts are prepared to lead delivery while stepping in for the COO only when strategically applicable.

4. Performance Integration

  • Partner with Internal Communications and Marketing to build and implement the Americas' performance and strategic narrative are clearly communicated to all stakeholders.

  • Serve as the strategic liaison to HR, to partner and execute on programs driving organizational culture are prioritized and executed within the business lines


The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
