Vice President, Finance Business Partner I Core Payments: Blockchain & Digital Currencies
Overview:
The Vice President, Finance Business Partner -- Blockchain & Digital Currencies at Mastercard will serve as the senior finance leader and strategic business partner for Digital Assets & Blockchain, providing executive financial leadership across business strategy, growth priorities, finance integration, planning, forecasting, performance management, investment prioritization, and decision support. This role will also oversee the finance integration agenda for strategic transactions, partnerships, and new business initiatives, including integration planning, close and Day 1 readiness, post-close execution, synergy and cost tracking, governance routines, operating model alignment, financial reporting readiness, control considerations, and cross-functional issue resolution. This role will partner closely with product, engineering, regional, corporate finance, integration management, legal, compliance, HR, sourcing, controllership, tax, treasury and business teams to ensure financial outcomes are aligned with organizational goals, governance expectations, and Mastercard's broader strategy.
The ideal candidate is a strategic finance executive with strong business judgment, executive presence, integration experience, and the ability to lead through ambiguity in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment. This candidate will lead a team responsible for core finance business partnering and finance integration execution across Blockchain & Digital Currencies, translating complex business, operational, technology, regulatory, and integration needs into clear financial insights, executable plans, and executive-ready recommendations.
Role:• Lead the Finance Business Partner agenda for Blockchain & Digital Currencies, serving as the senior finance advisor to Digital Assets & Blockchain product, engineering and business leaders• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes across revenues, expenses, investments, personnel, vendor spend, integration costs, synergies, and macroeconomic drivers, ensuring plans are grounded in business drivers, strategic priorities, and financial targets• Own executive-level financial performance management, including month-end and quarter-end close review, forecast variance analysis, risks and opportunities, operating reviews, corporate reporting deliverables, and leadership narratives• Set the finance strategy and operating cadence for Blockchain & Digital Currencies, including KPIs, financial frameworks, reporting routines, governance forums, resource allocation, and decision support standards• Lead finance integration strategy, governance, and senior stakeholder engagement for strategic transactions, partnerships, and business initiatives across Digital Assets & Blockchain, including close readiness, Day 1 requirements, post-close milestones, operating model decisions, and escalation routines• Provide executive sponsorship and direction for finance integration workstreams across FP&A, Controllership, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, HR, Legal, Compliance, Sourcing, Integration Management and business teams, ensuring dependencies are identified, tracked, and resolved• Partner with senior business leaders to evaluate new products, partnerships, strategic investments, business cases, pricing, vendor negotiations, partner economics, operating model options, and return expectations• Proactively manage financial, operational, control, reporting, close, execution, regulatory, and market risks across the portfolio; develop mitigation plans and escalate key issues as needed• Develop and present executive-ready materials, including operating reviews, leadership updates, steering committee materials, finance readiness assessments, decision papers, performance narratives, and ad hoc strategic analysis• Identify and lead process improvement opportunities that strengthen financial discipline, enhance forecast accuracy, improve decision support, standardize integration routines, and increase operating efficiency• Lead, coach, and develop the Blockchain & Digital Currencies finance team, including the Director, Finance; Director, Finance Integration Lead; and Manager, Finance Integration, setting priorities, ensuring clear ownership, and fostering a high-performing, collaborative team environment
All About you:• Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions • Strong proficiency in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance and accounting • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint • Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Strong project management skills including superior organization, planning, and follow through. • Able to foster a positive team environment and collaborate to produce outstanding results • Able to work independently, prioritize effectively and drive process improvement initiatives • Good knowledge of Business Intelligence tools and experience with financial systems/applications (e.g., Hyperion and Oracle) preferred• Advanced degree or MBA preferred.
