The Vice President, Payer Engagement leads post-contract payer partnerships and executive health plan relationships to drive value-based care success and practice participation. In this high-visibility role, you'll serve as a trusted strategic partner to senior health plan executives, translating post-contract relationships into lasting, mutually beneficial success for practices, payers, and Aledade alike. You'll sit at the intersection of strategy and execution—leading governance forums, shaping Medicare Advantage strategy, and rallying cross-functional teams around a shared vision for better outcomes. We are flexible with respect to geographic location, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable working remotely/work from home within the US or be based from Bethesda, MD office.
Stakeholder Strategy & Engagement:
- Build and sustain relationships with health plan leaders to drive mutual success, balancing macro industry trends with granular insights to align on shared strategic goals.
- Lead partnership governance structures (i.e. JOC meetings), presenting Aledade’s value proposition and executing on joint clinical, operational, and data-interoperability strategies.
- Partner across internal teams—including Clinical, Analytics, Product, Health Plan Performance,, and Policy—to champion areas of mutual alignment between health plans, our practices, and Aledade and navigate evolving CMS regulations and market trends.
Team Leadership:
- Build, direct, and retain a high-performing team by fostering a collaborative work culture.
- Translate strategic organizational goals into actionable targets, coach employees, and manage performance against key objectives.
- Oversee resource allocation and cross-functional leadership alignment to optimize resources and remove roadblocks.
MA Performance & Strategy:
- Share and align health plan perspectives and strategies with cross-functional leaders, including clinical and product.
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve potential areas of misalignment between payer partners and internal teams.
- Monitor key MA performance metrics, risk adjustment, and quality initiatives to continuously optimize health plan partnership outcomes.
- Lead Payer GTM to ensure maximum eligibility and enrollment of practices into our value-based contracts
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 15+ years of progressive healthcare experience, combining senior leadership across healthcare strategy, business development, management consulting, and finance.
- 10+ years within a health plan environment, demonstrating deep expertise in Medicare Advantage fundamentals—including financial performance, bid processes, network management, VBC strategies, interoperability, and Stars.
- Data-driven strategic thinker with a proven ability to synthesize complex insights into actionable operational plans.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships across all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated success collaborating with executive-level external stakeholders.
- Strategic leader with a strong track record of tactical execution, driving measurable results through diplomacy and cross-functional alignment.
- Forward-thinking mindset with a focus on leveraging technology to enhance scalability and operational efficiency.

- Master’s degree or MBA
