About the Role


Eleven Media is looking for a creative and editorially minded Video Editor. This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who follows US news and politics closely, works well under deadline pressure, and can respond quickly when major stories develop.


Key Responsibilities


  • Edit long-form and short-form videos from raw footage through final delivery.
  • Work with producers and editors to shape story structure, pacing, context, and visual flow.
  • Select and edit footage, soundbites, music, graphics, captions, transitions, and sound design.
  • Create platform-specific versions in different formats, durations, and aspect ratios.
  • Follow the brand’s editorial voice, visual identity, and quality standards.
  • Use approved assets and maintain correct attribution.
  • Manage feedback and revisions while delivering accurate, polished work on schedule.
  • Review audience-retention data and viewer feedback to improve future edits.
  • Stay informed about current affairs, political developments, platform trends, competitor content, and emerging creative tools.
  • Communicate clearly with producers, editors, and other teams throughout the production process.
  • Remain flexible during major or breaking news events, including occasional evening or weekend work when required.


What You Will Need


  • Strong experience editing short-form and long-form digital video.
  • A portfolio demonstrating excellent storytelling, pacing, clarity, and audience engagement.
  • Proficiency in professional editing software.
  • Experience working with interviews, speeches, news footage, voiceovers, archive material, music, graphics, and captions.
  • A strong interest in politics, elections, public policy, international affairs, and current events.
  • An understanding of editorial accuracy, responsible sourcing, copyright, and proper attribution.
  • Strong knowledge of social platforms, video formats, audience retention, and content packaging.
  • Good visual judgment and close attention to detail across footage, sound, graphics, captions, and on-screen text.
  • The ability to recognize misleading edits, missing context, and factual inconsistencies.
  • Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, respond constructively to feedback, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to support breaking or time-sensitive stories when needed.
