Lifeway is seeking a skilled Video Editor to craft compelling, purpose-driven video content across a wide range of platforms and audiences — from Bible study curriculum and marketing campaigns to live events and internal communications. In this role, you will bring stories to life through expert editing, audio mixing, color correction, and sound design, all grounded in Lifeway's creative standards. You will work alongside producers, motion designers, and cross-functional teams throughout the post-production process to deliver polished videos that resonate with the Church. This is a remote position in the U.S. with occasional travel to Nashville for in-person team gatherings. #LI-Remote 


Responsibilities
  • Lives out Lifeway’s mission and values, showing deep commitment to Kingdom work
  • Edits original footage into complete, polished stories that reflect Lifeway's brand standards and align with each project's creative brief and goals.
  • Makes informed editorial decisions around pace, style, and tone based on the target audience and distribution platform. 
  • Performs audio mixing, color correction, and sound design to ensure quality and consistency across all video deliverables. 
  • Sources and integrates music, sound effects, graphics, and footage from internal / external partners to support the emotional and creative intent of each project. 
  • Collaborates with motion graphic designers and fellow editors to incorporate animations, captions, and branded templates. 
  • Communicates project timelines, creative roadblocks, and production needs clearly to producers, project managers, and creative leads. 
  • Maintains organized file management and consistent naming structures for all source footage and edited project files. 
  • Participates in review cycles by providing constructive creative input and implementing stakeholder feedback efficiently. 
  • Contributes to team growth through peer coaching, critique sessions, and process improvement ideas. 
  • Limited travel: 2-4 times per year, typically overnight
Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree - preferred

Master's degree - preferred

Advanced graduate degree - not required


Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, required

  • Editing reel required — must be submitted with application 
  • 3+ years of professional experience in video editing, post-production, or media production 
  • Strong proficiency in narrative editing — shaping tone, pacing, and flow across a variety of content types 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize deliverables in a fast-paced creative environment 
  • Experience with audio mixing and color correction at a professional level 
  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration with producers, designers, and creative team members 
  • Reliable creative judgment and decision-making in editorial and collaborative workflows 
  • Ability to travel to the Middle Tennessee area 2-4 times annually for team gatherings

Actively involved in an evangelical Christian church


Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, preferred 


  • Experience editing curriculum, ministry, or mission-driven video content 
  • Familiarity with motion graphics workflows and integrating animated elements into video projects 
  • Experience editing for live events or camp environments 
  • Proficiency in file organization best practices within a shared production environment 
  • Basic proficiency in After Effects or motion design — able to navigate and support motion graphics work when needed  
  • Experience editing content for paid social media advertising
