Role Overview

We’re looking for Visual Designers to help establish the visual foundation of original animated series across a wide range of styles, genres, and audiences.

Visual Designers will create the core assets used to guide production, with a primary focus on character reference sheets, props, and environments. These assets will help AI filmmakers, animators, editors, and creative leads maintain a consistent visual language throughout production.

The role sits at the intersection of visual development, animation design, and AI-native production. We’re looking for designers with strong visual taste and the ability to translate creative direction into clear, cohesive visual references.

Our projects span a wide range of animation styles, so the ability to adapt across different aesthetics and visual worlds is highly valued.

Responsibilities
  • Create character reference sheets, including poses, expressions, turnarounds, and key design details

  • Design props, environments, and other visual assets that establish the world of each series

  • Develop and maintain cohesive visual languages across individual shows

  • Establish visual rules around character design, proportions, color, shape language, environments, and overall consistency

  • Collaborate closely with Showrunners, writers, animators, AI filmmakers, and other creative team members

  • Translate scripts, concepts, and creative direction into clear visual references

  • Iterate quickly based on feedback and evolving production needs

  • Prepare assets optimized for AI image and video-generation workflows

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Strong background in visual development, character design, concept art, animation, illustration, or related fields

  • Strong understanding of composition, color, silhouette, shape language, and visual storytelling

  • Experience designing characters, props, and environments

  • Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design and the ability to work across different styles

  • Comfortable adapting to a wide range of animation aesthetics and creative directions

  • Experience with AI image-generation tools such as Midjourney, Nano Banana, Seedream, Flux, etc.

  • Familiarity with AI video-generation tools such as Kling, Veo, Seedance, Runway, etc. is a plus

  • Strong proficiency in Photoshop or other traditional design and compositing tools

  • Ability to work quickly, take feedback, and independently execute against a creative brief

  • Passion for animation, filmmaking, visual storytelling, and emerging creative technology

What We Offer
  • $1,000–$2,000 per week

  • In-person role in Culver City, CA

  • Potential for full-time opportunities

  • Access to state-of-the-art AI creative tools and traditional design software
