Lead MinIO's global brand and communications strategy to drive awareness and reputation across technical and executive audiences. Build and manage a global communications team, partner cross-functionally, and advise executives at a pre-IPO, high-growth AI infrastructure company.
The summary above was generated by AI

MinIO is the industry leader in high-performance object storage and the company behind the world’s fastest, most widely deployed object store, powering production infrastructure for more than half of the Fortune 500, including 9 of the 10 largest global automakers and all 10 of the largest U.S. banks. Our enterprise offering, AIStor, is engineered to handle the scale, speed, and pressure of modern AI and analytics, from terabytes to exabytes, all in a single namespace.

The Vice President of Communications is responsible for defining and leading a comprehensive brand and communications strategy that aligns with MinIO’s mission and market positioning. In this role, you will drive brand awareness, strengthen the company’s reputation, and craft compelling narratives that engage software architects, IT executives, enterprises, and investors.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and creative storyteller with proven writing expertise, a deep understanding of the technology ecosystem, and experience managing global teams and complex narratives. This leader will collaborate with the executive team to shape high-impact communications, lead critical messaging efforts, and inspire teams to elevate the MinIO brand on a global scale. This is a rare opportunity to shape the communications function at a high-growth, pre-IPO infrastructure company at the center of the AI transformation.

What You Will Do:

Communications Strategy

You will own the company's overarching communications agenda and translate business priorities into a clear, consistent external voice. This is the connective tissue between MinIO's strategy and how the market understands it.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate communications strategy that supports business objectives, enhances brand reputation, and drives market visibility.
  • Oversee internal and external communications frameworks to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Lead strategic messaging for executive communications, product milestones, corporate news, and high-stakes announcements.

Corporate messaging & Executive & thought leadership

As MinIO establishes itself as the leading data store for AI and analytics, this leader will shape the narratives that position the company — and its executives — at the center of that conversation.

  • Define and maintain the company's core narrative and the AI data infrastructure story.
  • Build the visibility of the CEO and key leaders through bylines, keynotes, speaking slots, podcasts, and social presence. Position executives as credible voices in the AI infrastructure conversation.
  • Coordinate launch moments end to end alongside product marketing.
  • Partner with product marketing to develop and maintain a messaging architecture that spans the full portfolio, from AIStor to emerging products, ensuring consistency from analyst briefings to sales conversations

Media and Analyst Relations

You will be the driving force behind how MinIO shows up in the press and with the analyst community. Strong, trusted relationships with reporters and analysts are central to building and protecting the company's reputation at scale.

  • Drive media relations strategy, securing high-impact coverage in top-tier outlets through proactive storytelling and reactive management.
  • Cultivate and manage strong relationships with industry analysts; coordinate briefings and support analyst report inclusion.

Social Media Communications

Social is where much of MinIO's audience first encounters the brand and its leaders. You will shape a presence that amplifies the company's narrative and builds genuine influence across the platforms that matter to our technical and executive audiences.

  • Develop and oversee executive and corporate social media strategies aligned with brand voice and communications goals.
  • Guide social content development to drive thought leadership, engagement, and influence across platforms.
  • Monitor and manage the company’s digital reputation; leverage analytics to optimize performance and audience reach.

GEO/AEO, SEO & Owned Channel Optimization

Ensure MinIO earns visibility and credibility across both traditional and AI-generated search environments.

  • Lead comms involvement in MinIO’s GEO/AEO and SEO efforts across owned content: blogs, the MinIO website, executive social platforms, newsletters, YouTube, and third-party channels including Wikipedia and Reddit and more.
  • Develop an integrated plan that improves MinIO's brand mentions across AI search environments and ensure MinIO earns prominent placement in AI-generated search responses and traditional search results alike

Leadership & Collaboration

Beyond strategy, you will build and inspire the team and partnerships that bring communications to life. Success in this role depends on close collaboration across the business and the trust you earn as an advisor to senior leadership.

  • Build and lead a high-performing global communications team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Sales, People Operations, and other departments to align messaging across the business.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on strategic communications and messaging priorities.
  • Implement scalable systems and processes to support long-term communications and brand success.

Your Skills and Experience:

This is a senior leadership role for someone who has done it before and is ready to do it at scale. We are looking for a candidate who brings the following:

  • 15+ years of experience in marketing communications, brand strategy, or related roles, preferably in B2B enterprise technology or infrastructure, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of creating and executing integrated brand and communication strategies that drive measurable results.
  • Exceptional storytelling, writing and editing abilities, adaptable for diverse audiences and formats.
  • Expertise in leveraging digital and traditional media to amplify corporate messaging.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and build consensus.
  • Expertise in managing global teams, agencies, and budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in both strategic and hands-on capacities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

What We Offer:

  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • 401K with 3% Contribution
  • Pre-IPO Stock Options
  • At least 12 Public Holidays
  • Flexible Time Off
