At RH we believe deeply that the "right" people are our greatest asset. We value people with high energy, who possess the ability to energize others. People who are smart, creative and have a point of view. People who see the answer in every problem, versus those who see the problem in every answer. People who are driven, determined and won't take "no" for an answer. We value team players, people who are more concerned with what's right, rather than who's right.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pull together aspirational seasonal concept presentations and “Big Ideas” to present across the organization.
  • Design into seasonal concepts and identify assortment opportunities in close collaboration with design associates across the hard goods and soft goods categories and oversee that the execution of the concepts within and across categories is harmonious.

  • Own the development process from initial concepts through production approval; Execute and oversee the creation of designs, specifications, and sample comments that are clear and actionable across languages and varying literacy levels.
  • Review all product samples and finishes with the PD teams to ensure products across departments are achieving the highest level of quality, and continually striving to elevate the brand’s design and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional partners in Merchandising, Sourcing, Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Planning to make sure the design plan and business strategy is aligned, deadlines are on track, risks are communicated in advance, and issues that arise are resolved as a team.
  • Maintain strong clear communication and partnerships with external vendors and across the organization to keep things moving smoothly throughout the season - including post development deliverables; You are the primary contact for the retouching, photography, sourcebook, and web photography teams.
  • Actively track and manage annual sample and sample shipment budgets.
  • Be an active problem solver willing to roll up your sleeves to fill in gaps wherever needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of work experience in a related field
  • A firm grasp of the RH customer and overall brand aesthetic.
  • Strong sketching abilities with an expertise in Adobe Creative Suite a must, Graphite, Rhino, or SolidWorks a plus.
  • Proven track record of designing into business plans that drive results.
  • In-depth knowledge of designing and manufacturing across hard-goods product categories - furniture, lighting, décor & accessories. Soft goods experience a plus.
  • Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills that are effective across global culture and language barriers.
  • Highly organized with the ability to own the design process from concept to production, while overseeing a small team and managing multiple projects/deadlines.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude with a strong understanding of business strategy and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
  • The ideal individual must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast-paced dynamic environment and is energized by constant change.
