About Tixr

Tixr's on a mission to transform the ticket buying experience with a modern approach to a legacy business. Born from a fan-focused frame of mind, we empower large-scale events, music venues, and sports properties with modern, innovative solutions to their highly-complex ticketing and e-commerce needs. Our unified commerce platform is built for big, supporting all types of events, from festivals to global arena tours, and an almost limitless suite of commerce offerings beyond admission tickets.

Summary

As our VP of Quality Assurance, you will own the end-to-end quality strategy and execution for

our platform. You’ll lead a growing team of ~15 people, quickly earn their trust, and - just as

quickly - organize both manual-testing talent and automation engineers into a unified,

high-velocity QA organization. This is a hands-on leadership role: in addition to your proven

management skills, you will bring your significant and hard-won experience in QA automation

with you - rolling up your sleeves wherever it makes sense to do so, and lead by example.

Importantly: you know what role AI can and cannot play in this space. You will use all of this to

level up the team, and significantly increase our testing quality, coverage, and related reporting.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Organization

  • Define and implement an organizational structure that scales—aligning manual testers, SDETs, and future hires under clear roles, career paths, and ownership domains
  • Ensure QA resources are allocated according to the priorities of our product roadmap, and also that these resources are set up for success in a dynamic environment
  • Drive a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, leading by example and providing opportunities for learning new skills wherever possible
  • Establish clear performance metrics, regular 1:1s, and career-development plans to ensure the team feels seen and supported

Product Quality: Ownership and Operations

  • Develop and evangelize a phased roadmap that introduces improvements to our current processes as quickly as possible, while maintaining business continuity
  • Strategically partner with Product and Engineering to embed quality early in the development lifecycle (i.e. shift-left, while minimizing disruption)
  • Identify and shore up areas where the definition of “done” is unclear
  • Provide data-driven insights into the quality of our features and releases to leadership
  • Ensure requirements, test cases (manual and automated), and results are linked in the team’s work‑tracking tools to ensure compliance and audit trails are always up to date.

Automation Strategy: Evolution, Expansion, and AI

  • Dramatically and quickly increase our automated test coverage by assessing our current framework, defining a lodestar for the team and collaboratively driving alignment on a plan with milestones - executing against that plan with data-driven progress updates
  • Lead the team by prioritizing standards (e.g. modular design, scalability), and support them by making sure they have the resources they need to succeed
  • Leverage AI wherever possible, while also recognizing that it has pernicious and poorly understood limitations

Change & Stakeholder Management

  • Cultivate excellent relationships with across the organization through clear communication and an accumulation of well-earned trust
  • Work closely with Director of Release Management to ensure alignment on quality bars
  • Communicate data-driven QA metrics, roadmap progress, and risk assessments to senior leadership and cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • Leadership: 8+years leading cross‑functional or multi‑discipline QA teams (>10 people),
  • including direct experience leading organizational design initiatives
  • QA Experience: 10+ years in software quality assurance (API testing, web/mobile applications, load testing, etc.), including hands-on work within the last few years
  • Automation Expertise: Demonstrated success introducing or scaling modern automation frameworks and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines
  • Process & Metrics: Strong command of test‑planning, defect triage, and data‑driven decision‑making; comfortable defining and socializing KPIs for quality.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Proven ability to influence engineering and product roadmaps, manage conflicting priorities, and navigate organizational change.
  • Technical Foundation: Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.) and solid understanding of object‑oriented design principles.
  • Tooling: Hands‑on with test management platforms and work‑tracking systems (Jira, Zephyr/Xray, TestRail) and source‑control/CI tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)

Bonus Points

  • Experience in the ticketing industry or with SaaS platforms/integrations
  • Direct Software Development or Product experience
  • Familiarity with Java
