Hunter Industries seeks a Web Developer to work on the development and theming of Hunter Industries websites and online applications. This position teams up with marketing, engineering, information services and product managers to design, build, and maintain user-centric websites, web applications, and online products.

This role is performed remotely. Candidates must be willing and able to work PST core hours to allow for team collaboration.  

Essential Functions: 

  • Develops and maintains full stack Drupal websites, including custom module and theme development (PHP, Twig, JavaScript, CSS/SCSS), configuration management, and integration with third-party APIs and services, ensuring performance, security, and accessibility standards are met across front-end and back-end components in collaboration with the web development team. 
  • Maintains web content including large product catalog pages in multiple languages throughout Hunter’s family of websites. 
  • Troubleshoots bugs reported and test accuracy of the fix and implementation. 
  • Builds queries to MySQL databases to provide data essential to the user’s experience. 
  • Ownership of feature implementation. 
  • Converts comprehensive mockups or wireframes into fully functional webpages. 
  • Maintains and enhances web applications including Single Sign-On, Content Management Systems, Learning Management System, and in-house developed applications. 
  • Leverages AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar coding agents) to accelerate development cycles, improve code quality, and reduce manual effort across the full stack. 
  • Creates site diagrams and may create project workflow diagrams and wireframes. 
  • Utilizes web analytics to suggest improvements to the Hunter websites. 
  • Assists in optimizing web site content and structure to enhance search engine optimization, ensuring privacy and cookie consent, and achieving accessibility standards. 
  • Protects the Hunter brand image, integrity, and consistency wherever it appears internally, publicly, and electronically, maintaining a defined set of graphic standards. 
  • Performs peer review of feature implementation, enhancements and bug fixes. 
  • Collaborates with Project Managers and Creatives and consult on maintainable solutions. 

Education/Training Required and Preferred:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in web design, graphic design, or a combination of education and relevant work experience.  

Experience Required and Preferred:  

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in website development and design.  

 What You Bring: 

  • Advanced knowledge of HTML, jQuery, PHP, CSS, and ability to hand code without reference material. 
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites and ability to write media queries. 
  • Experience developing websites with open-source content management systems, Drupal preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and other professional graphic design software. 
  •   Understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment. 
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (e.g., Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari). 
  • Experience working on a Mac platform. 
  • Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other departments.  
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and organizational skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to interact with members across the organization. 
  • Experience with a versioning system (Git, SVN, etc.) preferred. 
  • Experience with design frameworks (Foundation, Bootstrap, etc.) preferred. 
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, Angular, etc.) preferred. 
  • Ability to create custom Drupal modules preferred. 
  • Leverage AI tools responsibly to increase speed and reliability of code delivery.

The national average hourly pay for this opportunity ranges from $35.00 - $45.00
