We are looking for a Workday Architect to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to our Senior Director, HR Technology and Operations and based in San Jose, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week.

The Senior HRIS Analyst / Workday Architect will play a key role in the strategic enhancement and expansion of the Workday HCM platform across Bloom Energy. This role will partner closely with the India-based Principal HRIS Architect to execute the global HR technology roadmap and will serve as the primary Workday technical lead for the Americas region.

The priority of this role is to design, configure and support scalable Workday solutions that ensure a single, trusted source of HR data and enable efficient, compliant and user-friendly HR processes for a global workforce.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Configure, manage and maintain Bloom’s HR systems including Workday (HCM), Recruiting, Advance Compensation, Benefits, Performance Management, Talent Management
  • Technical lead for Workday implementation of additional Workday functionalities including Onboarding and Absence Management
  • Design and develop Workday reports and dashboards to support HR and business analytics needs
  • Lead or support Workday semi-annual releases, including impact analysis, configuration updates, regression testing and stakeholder communications.
  • Provide day-to-day systems support including troubleshooting data and systems issues, recommending solutions and implementing enhancements and fixes in systems per change control guidelines
  • Manage the integration of the HCM application and reports with other business systems and vendors where required (ADP, Oracle, Benefits Providers, etc.)
  • Ensure that system controls and processes meet all internal and external audit requirements
  • Research and test new functionality and features within Workday
  • Create detailed documentation of business processes and systems functionality, including workflow, program functions and steps required to execute systems transactions/processes and support change management
  • Partner with Global HR Operations, HR Business Partners and Payroll & Benefits to define and develop requirements, re-engineer current processes and implement new functionality in Workday
  • Ensure data security and integrity within Workday through appropriate security role design, audits, controls and monitoring, support internal and external audit activities.
  • Provide training, direction and guidance to other team members for areas of Workday expertise

Skills and Experience

  • 6 – 8 years of hands-on Workday experience, including configuration and support across multiple HCM modules.
  • Proven experience leading Workday projects, including new module implementations, redesigns, integrations and large-scale enhancements.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes across the employee lifecycle and how they translate into Workday business processes and security models.
  • Advanced experience with Workday reporting, calculated fields and complex security requirements.
  • Experience designing, testing and deploying integrations between Workday and third-party systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical designs and clearly articulate trade-offs.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives with competing deadlines in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and lead cross-functional workshops.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Workday Pro certification, Workday certifications, or equivalent advanced training is strongly preferred.
