The Data/ML Infrastructure Engineer builds and operates data infrastructures for processing drone and orbital sensing data, ensuring reliability, observability, and performance while collaborating with research and product teams.

As a Data Infrastructure Engineer, you will create large-scale data processing systems, ensuring efficient data flow and collaborating with teams to tackle infrastructure challenges.

Design, build, and maintain full-stack cloud applications and real-time frontends to monitor and control robot fleets. Implement scalable ingestion, storage, streaming, and analytics for high-volume telemetry and video. Develop agentic/LLM-based tooling, improve reliability and observability, debug field issues, and ship production software from prototype to deployed systems on construction sites.

Design, build, and scale vehicle data-collection networking and infrastructure. Integrate software with onboard compute, sensors, and navigation. Build CI/CD, ensure performance, security, and operational excellence for an autonomous vehicle fleet.

Responsible for building decision-making frameworks for multi-aircraft wildfire suppression, developing algorithms, and ensuring real-time software performance. Collaborates with engineers and firefighters for system validation.

Own the end-to-end user experience for XDOF's data and research platform. Build self-serve data acquisition flows, commercialize internal tooling with infrastructure, design visualizers and exploration tools for large datasets, and collaborate closely with product and design while operating production web services.

Lead and build software infrastructure and automation for robot testing and evaluation. Develop scripts, tools, and workflows to run repeatable tests, collect and analyze data, improve reliability, and coordinate cross-functional test execution. Set technical direction, prioritize work, unblock the team, and grow testing infrastructure and personnel for scaled deployments.

Develop and maintain Python-based automated production test infrastructure and hardware abstraction layers. Build modular, fault-tolerant test workflows, optimize high-volume data pipelines to central databases, triage test failures, and write unit tests and mocks to validate code before deploying to production lines.

Lead end-to-end product-layer development: own frontend (Next.js/TypeScript) and API/application layer, define workflows and API contracts, implement CI/CD and automated tests, build customer-facing UIs and internal deployment tools, and collaborate with backend, SRE, product, and design to scale deployments across facilities.
