The Opportunity: Role Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Account Director to join our dynamic team. The Account Director role will be responsible for providing leadership in account management, including day-to-day account activities and strategic guidance to clients. You must have a solid understanding of all things digital. You will be responsible for staff development and financial management, which includes proactive opportunities, and lean into industry trends and leverage lateral learning.

Note: Requires travel.

Key Responsibilities

Core Function:

  • Take ownership of the financial health of accounts.
  • Deliver strategic client presentations, recommendations, and annual brand plans.
  • Communicate strategy and tactical plans effectively across large multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring overall satisfaction with the team and agency.
  • Identify and cultivate client opportunities.
  • Management and mentorship of junior team members.
  • Actively monitor the headlines for current brand and competitor news trends, and white space opportunity.

What You'll Bring: Required Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Experience:
    • 8 to 12 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing agency.
    • Effective presentation, mentorship, and client-facing skills.

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of Veeva systems and client requirements.
  • Understand brand fundamentals (positioning, messaging, creative concepts) and how they all work together.
  • Possess deep knowledge of category and competitive set, as well as client pipeline.
  • Understand FDA rules/regulations and life cycle of a brand.
  • Fluent in market research methodology and approaches.
  • Excellent understanding of the digital marketplace and ad formats.

Skills:

  • Master of industry trends and guidelines (eg, CAN-SPAM, privacy policy, etc).
  • Ability to think strategically, creatively, and collaboratively.
  • Ability to effectively lead and collaborate with multiple team members.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Media, analytics, and measurement experience.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master's, PharmD, PhD).
