Your Role

Zip is looking for a sharp, motivated finance professional to join our newly formed Corporate Finance team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong financial modeling foundation who wants to be close to the core of how a high-growth software company manages its finances — and who is excited to grow quickly in a fast-moving environment.

You'll work alongside the Director of Corporate Finance, with frequent exposure to senior leadership. You'll get your hands on the models and processes that drive Zip's planning, forecasting, and reporting — and over time, you'll take on increasing ownership and responsibility.

You Will Own

Financial Modeling & Analysis

  • Maintain and enhance Zip's consolidated financial models, including the three-statement model and cash flow forecasting tools

  • Build ad hoc models and analyses to support key business decisions — from evaluating new investments to modeling out headcount scenarios

  • Conduct variance analysis on actuals vs. budget/forecast, identifying key drivers and preparing clear explanations for leadership

  • Be a key contributor in owning and managing our cash flow model, ensuring deep understanding of the inflows and outflows, and driving predictability on the forecast

Budgeting & Forecasting Support

  • Play an active role in Zip's annual planning process, including gathering department inputs, consolidating data, and preparing planning materials

  • Support the quarterly re-forecast process by maintaining and updating models as assumptions evolve

  • Be one of our main administrators and help maintain and improve our financial planning tool, ensuring data accuracy and process efficiency

Reporting & Insights

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial packages for leadership and the board, including commentary and data visualization

  • Track and report on key financial and operating metrics, flagging trends and anomalies proactively

  • Help build and maintain dashboards and reporting infrastructure that make financial data accessible and actionable across the business

G&A Finance Support

  • Support financial partnership with HR and Real Estate teams — including maintaining headcount models, tracking people-related spend, and helping with lease and facilities cost analysis

  • Respond to ad hoc requests from G&A leaders with timely analysis and clear recommendations

Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or a similar analytical finance role

  • Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets modeling skills — you're comfortable building a model from scratch and know how to keep it clean and auditable

  • Familiarity with SaaS business models and metrics (ARR, churn, CAC, LTV, Rule of 40) is highly preferred

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized — you take pride in accuracy and hold your work to a high standard

  • Clear communicator, both in writing and in conversation — you know how to tailor your message to your audience

  • Curious and proactive: you don't just answer the question asked — you dig into the 'why' and bring new insights to the table

  • Experience with financial planning tools (e.g., Pigment, Anaplan, Adaptive Insights) and/or SQL is a plus

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous startup environment where priorities can shift and you need to move quickly

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field required

  • Strong academic record preferred

The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $160,000. The salary for this position is determined based on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant experience, education, or particular skills and expertise.
