Associate Director of International Admission

The USC Office of Undergraduate Admission is seeking an Associate Director, International Admission to provide strategic and operational leadership for USC’s international undergraduate recruitment and admission efforts.

The Associate Director of International Admission provides strategic and operational leadership for USC's international undergraduate recruitment and admission efforts. The position develops and implements international recruitment strategies; oversees recruitment activities and partnerships across key global markets; provides expertise in international credential evaluation and educational systems; and supports the development, implementation, and consistent application of admission policies and procedures for international applicants.

The Associate Director serves as a senior resource for complex international admission cases and leads training and professional development related to international application review. The position uses enrollment data and market intelligence to evaluate recruitment effectiveness, identify opportunities for enrollment growth, and inform the allocation of recruitment resources. The Associate Director also manages assigned staff, programs, budgets, and operational processes and represents USC with schools, counselors, professional organizations, and university partners in the United States and abroad.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute international undergraduate recruitment strategies in partnership with admission leadership.
  • Set goals for assigned international territories and evaluate recruitment, admission, yield, and enrollment outcomes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, counselors, educational organizations, alumni, and other international partners.
  • Serve as a resource on international educational systems, credentials, grading practices, accreditation, English-language proficiency, and document authenticity.
  • Research emerging educational systems and develop training and resources to support consistent and equitable application review.
  • Review complex international applications, make admission decisions, and provide guidance on borderline or exception cases.
  • Interpret admission policies and counsel prospective students and families on admission requirements and processes.
  • Analyze enrollment data and market trends to identify opportunities and improve international recruitment and conversion strategies.
  • Support development of recruitment communications, presentations, marketing materials, and outreach initiatives.
  • Represent USC through presentations, recruitment events, and engagement with students, families, counselors, and university partners.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and develop staff, including providing performance feedback and professional development opportunities.
  • Manage assigned programs, operational processes, resources, and budgets.
  • Maintain knowledge of international admission trends and best practices through professional associations and industry engagement.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $98,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Additional Education Requirements Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 3 years
Minimum Skills: Lead or supervisory recruitment and admissions experience with knowledge of financial aid policies.
