Antora Energy delivers affordable, reliable energy to industry, data centers, and the grid. Our thermal batteries turn low-cost electricity into always-on heat and power, without supply-constrained critical minerals or multi-year construction timelines.

We are growing our company with people who put team and mission first, value connection through laughter and joy, and work with humility and openness. We are committed to building a diverse, passionate, and creative team dedicated to a future powered by abundant, clean, low-cost energy.

  Position Summary

Antora is hiring an Associate General Counsel to lead the legal work behind its transition from technology development to commercial-scale deployment. This role owns the full range of commercial and project legal execution — customer and offtake agreements, EPC and O&M contracts, equipment supply, interconnection and site agreements — while also leading project financings, tax equity structures, and co-investor partnerships alongside the CBO and CFO.

This is a foundational role: working in partnership with Antora's existing Associate General Counsel (who owns corporate legal infrastructure), the person in this role ensures that every commercial deal and financing Antora closes moves quickly and cleanly from term sheet to execution — turning legal into an accelerant for deployment rather than a bottleneck.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Help structure, negotiate and draft, in coordination with outside counsel,  the full range of commercial and project agreements: offtake and energy sales, EPC, O&M, equipment supply and procurement, interconnection, site control, and partnership agreements.
  • Lead legal workstreams for project financings, including debt, tax equity, and co-investment structures; manage financial closings end to end.
  • Advise the executive team on transaction structure, legal risk, and commercial terms — with clear recommendations, not just issue-spotting.
  • Support corporate financings, governance matters, and entity structuring in partnership with the CFO, CBO, and existing AGC.
  • Conduct and manage legal due diligence on projects, counterparties, and acquisition or partnership opportunities.
  • Select, scope, and manage outside counsel for specialist project and finance matters; own legal spend for these workstreams.
  • Contribute to building the legal function: templates, playbooks, processes, and (over time) team members as volume grows.
 Key Qualifications
  • 15+ years of legal experience spanning a top-tier law firm foundation and senior in-house leadership (Deputy GC, Associate GC, or equivalent).
  • Deep project development and finance expertise in energy. You have negotiated and closed project financings, tax equity structures, offtake agreements, EPC and O&M contracts, and M&A in renewable energy or adjacent infrastructure. You know what makes a project bankable.
  • Commercial judgment. You have worked on the business side of energy development or with developers closely enough to understand their pressures. You give answers, weigh risk against speed, and know when "good enough to sign" is the right call.
  • Team and stakeholder leadership. You have led attorneys and paralegals, advised executives and boards, and worked across engineering, finance, and commercial teams without friction.
  • Hardware and capital-intensive project fluency. You understand the physical realities of building things - construction, supply chains, manufacturing, interconnection - and are comfortable operating in that context.
  • AI fluency. You are already using AI tools in your legal practice, or are seriously committed to building that fluency quickly. Antora is aggressively adopting AI and expects the same of its legal function.
  • Poise and autonomy. You operate well in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with minimal oversight, make calls independently, and know when to pull in others.
  • In-person commitment. This role requires regular on-site presence at our San Jose facility (this presence can be consistent with hybrid working arrangements). We value real-time collaboration - hallway conversations, whiteboard sessions, and quick working meetings with cross-functional teams.
