The Associate Solutions Engineer will write Python scripts, support sales cycles, guide users on the Encord platform, and translate technical concepts to business value.
About us
Encord is the universal data layer for AI that helps 300+ AI teams train and run models on the right data. Our platform indexes, curates, annotates, and evaluates data across the full AI lifecycle, from development through production.
Trusted by Woven by Toyota, AXA, UiPath, Zipline, and more. We're an ambitious team of 100+ working at the frontier of AI and have raised $60M in Series C funding from Wellington Management, CRV, Next47 and Y Combinator.
The role
We're hiring an Associate Solutions Engineer to be the technical bridge between engineering and customers. Partner with our commercial team to demo Encord's platform to AI leaders, roboticists, and computer vision engineers at the world's most innovative companies.
This role sits at the intersection of complex code and high-growth business strategy. Fast-track your career while learning to architect solutions for leading AI teams.
What you’ll do
- Write Python scripts to build technical POCs, ingest data, and integrate Encord into customer pipelines
- Support sales cycles with technical discoveries and uncover ML team pain points
- Master the Encord platform and SDK to guide users and answer technical questions
- Translate technical concepts to business value for non-technical stakeholders
- Channel customer feedback to Product and Engineering to shape platform roadmap
Who we’re looking for
- Potential over polish — we want grit and a "hacker mindset," not perfect credentials
- Recent Bachelor's or Master's in CS, Physics, Math, Engineering, or related STEM field
- Comfortable writing Python (academic or internship experience counts)
- Technical curiosity — you love debugging, APIs, and logic puzzles
- Clear communicator who can explain code to anyone
- Entrepreneurial — curious about how start-ups scale
Experience requirements
- Recent graduate or early-career professional with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM field
- Working proficiency in Python, demonstrated through coursework, personal projects, or internships — you can write functional scripts, debug problems independently, and navigate APIs
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Bonus: Hands-on experience with ML libraries (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, NumPy, Pandas), large datasets, REST APIs, SDKs, or cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)
- Bonus: Internship experience in software engineering, technical consulting, or a start-up
- Bonus: Track record of high achievement in academics, competitive sports, open-source projects, or other high-performance environments
Why Encord
- Competitive salary, commission, and meaningful equity in a high-growth start-up
- Clear, accelerated growth opportunities as the company scales rapidly
- Strong in-person culture: 3–5 days/week in our newly launched North Beach loft office
- Flexible PTO to fully recharge
- 18 paid vacation days in the U.S. plus federal holidays
- Annual learning & development budget
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
- Frequent travel opportunities across the U.S., London, and Europe
- Bi-annual company offsites, twice-weekly team lunches, and monthly socials
