Our Mission

Reflection is a research lab making intelligence open and accessible for everyone to use, customize, and build on. We build open models that let anyone control their intelligence and help shape the future of AI. Our mission: make intelligence open and accessible to all.

Role Overview

Reflection is looking for a founding Brand Designer to help define and own Reflection’s visual identity. As the first design hire on the marketing team, you’ll play a foundational role in evolving our brand and setting the creative bar across the company. This is a hands-on role for a uniquely versatile design leader who can translate complex technical ideas into clear, distinctive visual communication. We’re looking for someone with exceptional craft, strong conceptual instincts, and the range to work across formats while building a coherent, recognizable brand system as Reflection grows.

What You'll Do

  • Develop creative concepts and visual systems that bring the Reflection brand to life across channels

  • Translate complex technical ideas into clear, compelling visual stories - from charts and diagrams to research concepts

  • Create high-quality digital assets across digital channels including, website, launch pages, social, presentations, email, and other owned channels

  • Build and evolve scalable brand systems, templates, and design standards that help the company move quickly without compromising quality or consistency

  • Partner closely with web engineers and external creative collaborators to turn ideas and designs into polished digital experiences

  • Help shape the creative direction of events, physical experiences, merchandise, and other expressions of the brand

  • Continually push the brand forward, identifying opportunities to make Reflection more distinctive, memorable, and culturally relevant as the company grows

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years in brand or visual design, ideally at a tech company or agency

  • A portfolio that shows strong concepts, great craft, and brand systems you’ve built

  • Range across formats, from fast-turn social and digital assets to campaigns, launches, and events

  • Ability to make technical or complex ideas clear through visuals like diagrams and data visualization

  • Experience partnering with technical teams such as research, engineering, or product

  • Experience leading a team and directing external creative partners: setting direction, giving clear feedback, and holding a high bar

  • Comfort moving fast and making confident design calls amid ambiguity

  • Web and responsive design fluency

  • Experience leading or building a design team

  • Experience in AI, developer tools, or other deeply technical categories
