This role blends deep change and adoption expertise with legal‑industry fluency, client advisory leadership, and practice development. The Director will shape and deliver both stand‑alone change engagements and embedded change workstreams across Epiq’s KM, AI, search, data, and solution implementation practices, while contributing to the evolution, positioning, and scaling of our change enablement offerings.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Delivery
Serve as a trusted advisor to law firm and corporate legal leadership on change strategy, adoption planning, and transformation risk across Epiq’s advisory and implementation initiatives
Lead and deliver enterprise‑scale change enablement engagements for law firms and legal departments, including both stand‑alone change programs and embedded workstreams within broader advisory initiatives
Assess organizational readiness, stakeholder impact, and change fatigue across partners, associates, professional staff, and business services teams in complex, multi‑initiative environments
Translate firm strategy and advisory recommendations into practical, lawyer‑centric adoption and enablement plans that account for legal culture, risk sensitivity, billable hour pressures, and governance requirements
Design and execute end‑to‑end change programs, including stakeholder analysis, readiness and impact assessments, adoption roadmaps, communications, training strategies, and reinforcement models
Guide clients – lawyers and business professionals – through change impacts associated with AI, document and knowledge platforms, workflow automation, data modernization, and process re‑engineering
Identify and proactively manage adoption risks, resistance patterns, and fatigue, particularly in firms undergoing overlapping or sequential transformations
Establish and track measurable adoption, usage, behavior change, and value realization metrics tied to client business outcomes
Legal‑Centric Enablement & Leadership
Partner with client leadership teams to recommend and support embedded change into day‑to‑day legal workflows
Translate complex technology and operating model changes into clear, role‑based messaging and enablement tailored to legal audiences
Design learning and enablement programs for partners, associates, paralegals, practice support, and business services professionals
Coach law firm and in‑house legal leaders on effective change sponsorship, decision‑making, reinforcement, and visible leadership behaviors required to drive adoption
Lead stakeholder interviews, focus groups, and feedback loops to surface resistance, pain points, and adoption barriers
Practice Development & Growth
Lead the development and evolution of Epiq Advisory’s Change Enablement offerings, frameworks, and methodologies for the legal market
Shape change enablement approaches within proposals, SOWs, and client presentations, in collaboration with other practice leads
Contribute to business development efforts by articulating the value of change enablement as a core driver of ROI and transformation success
Represent change and enablement perspectives across complex, multi‑workstream client engagements
Stay current on legal industry trends, emerging technologies (including AI and agentic workflows), and evolving best practices in legal change and enablement
Internal Leadership & Capability Building
Mentor and support internal consultants and client teams on best‑practice change and enablement approaches in legal environments
Support clients in building sustainable internal change capability, including governance models, enablement frameworks, and role clarity
