The Team:

At Datadog, People Operations is more than just human resources—it’s a data-driven team dedicated to constantly improving the way we hire, develop, and support our most valuable asset: our people. Our People team are strategic problem solvers who work closely with leadership and employees to ensure that Datadog keeps scaling smoothly and remains a great place to work.

The Opportunity:

As a Compensation Program Manager, you will combine compensation expertise, program management, analytics, systems thinking, and stakeholder management to help build and scale our compensation programs. You will own critical compensation processes from strategy and design through execution, communications, enablement, and continuous improvement.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic problem solving and hands-on program execution, can translate complex compensation concepts into simple experiences for managers and employees, and thrives in a highly cross-functional environment.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and execute scalable compensation programs and processes, including compensation and equity cycles, governance, timelines, and tools, in partnership with People, Finance, HRIS, Payroll, Legal, and business leaders
  • Build dynamic compensation models and scenario analyses to support budgeting, workforce planning, and compensation design for cash/equity
  • Provide operational analysis, reporting, and insights related to compensation programs, trends, market data, and internal equity
  • Oversee compensation functionality and data in our systems and partner with HRIS and Analytics to continually enhance compensation and total rewards tooling
  • Lead communications and change management for compensation programs and processes, including FAQs, manager resources, training, and enablement
  • Partner cross-functionally to drive complex compensation initiatives from design through implementation and continuously improve processes and employee experience

Who You Are:

  • Five to seven years or more, of compensation or related experience
  • A flexible, low-ego approach to building and scaling the function, comfortable operating across high-level strategic program design and hands-on analytics, reporting, data cleanup, and operational execution
  • Experience managing compensation programs and annual cycles, including equity programs and/or other variable compensation
  • Strong analytical rigor and experience building dynamic models and scenario analyses
  • Experience implementing and using compensation benchmarking data, market pricing methodologies, reporting, and compensation technology
  • A good understanding of RSUs and other equity offerings
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate complex compensation concepts into digestible information for leaders and employees
  • A “systems” thinker oriented towards process improvement, scalability, and efficiency
  • Advanced capabilities in Excel
  • Strong knowledge of Workday functionality and reporting
  • Exceptional cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience developing communications, training, and change-management materials
