About us

Parallel is a web infrastructure company. Our products are used by leading businesses in sales, marketing, insurance, and coding to build best-in-class AI agents with flexible and powerful programmatic access to the web.

We've raised $230 million from Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia, Index Ventures, Spark Capital, Khosla Ventures, First Round, and Terrain to build the web for AIs. We're currently valued at $2 billion and we're forming a world-class team of engineers, designers, marketers, sellers, researchers, and operational experts to achieve our mission.

Job: You will build and lead Parallel's accounting function as we scale a generational AI infrastructure company. As our first Controller, you'll own accounting end to end: month-end close, financial statements, US GAAP and revenue recognition, international accounting decisions, audit readiness, tax and statutory compliance, and internal controls. Most importantly, you'll build the accounting team that runs it. You'll set the close process, chart of accounts, and core policies. You'll drive technical positions on usage-based revenue, compute commitments, and cost treatment, and choose the core systems that accounting, finance, and revenue operations will run on. You'll partner with finance, revenue operations, legal, and other functions as they mature. The business is scaling quickly, so you'll balance building for today with an eye toward the company we're becoming.
You: Have stood up an accounting function before and have a track record of strong hires to show for it. You bring 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience in high-growth tech, a CPA, a Big 4 background, and an AI-first approach to problem solving. You know US GAAP cold, especially usage-based revenue models. You'll get into the details when it matters, but your focus will be on building the team, systems, and processes that do the work at scale. You know which controls matter now and which would slow the business down and balance the tradeoffs. You've selected and implemented accounting systems, automated manual work, and used AI tools to move faster. You're excited about the AI infrastructure wave and want to build a world-class accounting team for the AI-era.
