We are looking for an outstanding commercial lawyer with product experience who specializes in advising enterprise sales organizations and fast-paced technology and product teams. The role requires deep experience supporting enterprise sales and negotiating complex commercial agreements in a fast-paced technology environment, as well as the ability to collaborate efficiently with diverse cross-functional partners and provide strategic, actionable legal advice.

What You’ll Do:
  • Partner with the large Uber for Business enterprise sales organization and lead the review, drafting, and negotiating of a wide variety of contracts including, but not limited to, enterprise sales, strategic relationships, promotional, and data privacy agreements, supporting Uber for Business’s technology platform, products, and services 
  • Help establish scalable policies and practices to support the sales cycle and ensure consistent legal guidance and alignment on risk across transactions
  • Draft and review terms and conditions, FAQs, legal disclaimers, marketing materials, product and support copy, and other policies in support of go-to-market and revenue-generating initiatives
  • Partner with sales, business development, and other business stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of Uber for Business goals, products, operations, and customers
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Product Legal team and other legal teams, such as Employment, Privacy, Marketing, Payments, Safety, and Tax, to provide comprehensive advice and enable efficient deal execution and resolve legal issues quickly for the teams you support 
  • As a product counsel: review technology products and initiatives and provide strategic guidance to product managers, engineers, and product and content designers throughout the product lifecycle; lead and manage legal reviews of proposed product changes and global product launches; coordinate with the broader legal team to identify and assess legal risks; and develop practical solutions and risk mitigations that support business objectives
Basic Qualifications:
  • J.D. and license to practice law in at least one state
  • Minimum of five (5) years of legal experience in private practice and/or in-house, including experience advising on commercial contracts
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least two (2) years of in-house experience negotiating commercial agreements is highly preferred. Bonus points for experience with enterprise sales agreements and high-value commercial transactions, in particular, as well as product counsel experience
  • Experience advising high-growth technology companies and supporting fast-paced sales organizations is highly preferred 
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects at a time in an exciting, fast-paced environment, both collaborating as a team to stay in sync and working independently to get the job done
  • Strong interpersonal skills and highly collaborative with both business leaders and cross-functional partners, with a strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner across functions to build consensus
  • Self-motivation with a strong affinity for vision setting, strategic problem solving, and driving action
  • Excellent business judgment and great communication skills
  • Embody the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and accountability

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $208,000 per year - USD $231,000 per year.

You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
