What You Bring to SBHG (Qualifications):

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a social science field

Or

  • Four (4) or more years of experience in a Mental Health Agency or County Behavioral Health Program

Experience & Skills:

  • Two (2) years of Quality Assurance or Medical Records experience required

  • One (1) year in a management / supervisory role preferred.

  • One (1) year of mental health experience preferred.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Valid California Driver’s License with an eligible driving record per company policy.

  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

  • First Aid certification

How you will make a difference:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for oversight of the Quality Assurance Programs for the respective Outpatient Programs. The position is responsible for educating about, tracking and monitoring report completions, oversees documentation of services by staff and coordinating all things related to the company Total Quality Management System to assure conformity with Medi-Cal, County standards, and internal standards and policies. Position participates in the preparation for corrective actions that may be needed for County, State, TJC and other stakeholder certification reviews.

Participates and aids in the development of improved QA processes/procedures. Coordinates with Research, Program Practices, Electronic Medical Record, and Finance Departments. Oversees the Continuous Quality Assurance program and records all CQI data.

Division/Program Overview

Program:

The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is a place where people experiencing a mental health crisis can go to be stabilized. These facilities operate 24/7 to provide crisis stabilization.

Population Served: Up to 16 adults (ages 18 and up) and 4 adolescents (ages 13 to 17).

Facility & Setting: Can be compared to an Urgent Care Center where people often go for a medical emergency instead of going to the hospital ER.  Patients may stay up to 23 hours.

Clinical Services: Provides important services to those in need of immediate crisis intervention and stabilization. Designed to prevent psychiatric hospitalizations.

Length of Stay: stay of up to 23 hours

Skills & Transition: The CSU will help clients to stabilize and will also provide referrals to other needed services. Transportation is provided as needed.
