Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented DevOps Engineer in Test to support our engineering organization by building, managing, and optimizing test infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This role is critical in ensuring reliable, scalable, and production-like environments for release validation and hardening.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Management (On-Premises & Cloud)

    • Manage and maintain VMware-based virtual machine environments for on-premises deployments.

    • Provision, configure, and manage AWS infrastructure, including EC2 instances, VPCs, Elastic IPs, and security groups.

  • Test Environment Provisioning

    • Stand up and maintain test environments for engineering teams, particularly during release hardening phases.

    • Ensure environments are stable, reproducible, and aligned with production configurations.

  • Infrastructure as Code & Automation

    • Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring scalable and repeatable deployments.

    • Develop and maintain automation workflows for provisioning and teardown of test environments.

  • Optimization & Cost Efficiency

    • Analyze and optimize infrastructure utilization across on-prem and AWS environments.

    • Perform rightsizing of instances and resources to balance performance and cost.

  • Test Execution & CI/CD Integration

    • Execute tests as required, including functional, integration, and system-level testing.

    • Integrate and manage test workflows within Jenkins pipelines.

    • Collaborate with QA and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure test coverage.

  • Continuous Improvement

    • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency of test systems and DevOps processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps infrastructure, cloud management, software testing, or QA engineering

  • Strong experience with VMware virtualization and VM lifecycle management.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including:

    • EC2

    • VPC configuration

    • Elastic IPs

    • Security Groups

  • In-depth knowledge of Terraform, including module design, state management, and best practices.

  • Familiarity with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance.

  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (subnets, routing, firewalls).

  • Experience provisioning and managing test environments at scale.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure optimization and cost management strategies.

  • Ability to run and support test execution, including debugging failures.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across multiple teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with additional Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., CloudFormation).

  • Scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash).

  • Experience in release engineering or release hardening processes.

  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Familiarity with Linux.
