Make your impact at a leading Fintech Company

Join BILL as a Director of AI & Product Partnerships, a newly chartered central BD arm focused on building the partnerships that power BILL's AI transformation as well as platform product partnerships. This leader will help to power zero-to-one motions that have never formally been staffed at BILL during a transformational era. The timing and impact of this role could not be more consequential: BILL is actively building with frontier AI companies and building a robust integration ecosystem that will define how hundreds of thousands of SMBs interact with their financial data. You will sit at the intersection of product strategy and commercial partnership, working directly with executives and external partner leaders at companies like Anthropic, OpenAI, Microsoft, Google.

In this role, your primary focus will be owning and expanding BILL's existing and new relationships with AI partners, ranging from securing app marketplace approvals, to architecting go-to-market plans that grow distribution and unlock new monetization paths. You will also help build the integration pipeline on the core AP, AR and Spend and Expense platforms to improve the company’s feature sets, working with software vendors like Outlook, Slack, Amazon Business, and Uber. Beyond managing active programs, you will source and evaluate net new opportunities, structure deals, and drive cross-functional alignment across product, engineering, sales, marketing, and finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Source, evaluate, and structure net new partnership opportunities, preparing financial analyses, trade-off frameworks, and negotiation strategies for internal alignment and the BILL executive team’s review.
  • Drive deals from discovery to launch, owning the full commercial lifecycle including term negotiation, agreement execution, and cross-functional go-to-market planning.
  • Own and grow BILL's strategic partnerships with frontier AI companies, including Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot, managing relationships from initial contracting, to connector approvals, through expansions, co-marketing, distribution, and monetization.
  • Lead the development of BILL's MCP connector pipeline, partnering with product and engineering to define connector capabilities, navigate partner approval processes, and expand workflow functionality.
  • Build the platform partner integration roadmap for AP, AR and Spend and Expense, including Outlook, Amazon Business, Slack, Teams, coordinating deal execution across internal teams.
  • Work with internal R&D leadership to identify LLM model use cases, drawing against contractual spend commitments and building these capital investments into partnership roadmaps.
  • Develop scalable playbooks and processes for the product partnerships program, enabling the team to move faster as the portfolio grows.
  • Represent BILL externally at partner meetings, conferences, and industry events, building the credibility and relationships required to advance deals and deepen strategic alignment.

We'd love to chat if you have:

  • 8 or more years of experience in product partnerships, business development, or strategic partnerships at a SaaS or fintech company, with a demonstrated track record of taking complex deals from sourcing through execution.
  • Experience navigating partner ecosystems in the AI, platform integration, or developer tools space, including working knowledge of API-based integrations and connector frameworks such as MCP.
  • The ability to operate independently at a senior level externally, including leading partner conversations, presenting negotiation strategies to BILL’s C-suite, and defending deal terms without requiring a co-pilot on every call.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including the ability to model deal economics, assess trade-offs, and translate partnership outcomes into revenue or TAM impact.
  • A track record of building cross-functional alignment across product, engineering, marketing, and finance in a fast-moving environment where programs are being built from scratch.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence, with the ability to represent BILL's partnership strategy clearly to both internal leaders and external C-suite counterparts.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working specifically with AI frontier companies or building within an MCP or API connector ecosystems.
  • Background that includes a foundational discipline in investment banking, corporate development, or product management, combined with a career shift into partnerships or business development.
  • Background that includes ecosystem integration experience with major ERPs like SAP, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics.
