Leads business development for clean energy services by generating prospects, conducting discovery conversations, presenting solutions, managing opportunity pipelines, scoping and pricing engagements, representing the company at conferences, and guiding contract negotiation, execution, and ongoing client relationships. Requires clean energy industry expertise, technical fluency, public and private sector contracting experience, and familiarity with solar, BESS, microgrids, EV infrastructure, and sustainability services.
Overview
This is a client facing role and the candidatewill be responsible for initial discovery conversations with clients, understanding & presenting the value proposition of our suite of clean energy services, and faciliting the contracting process from outreach & initial conversations through the scoping, pricing, and ultimately contract negotiation, execution, and management of the on-going client relationship management. We are seeking a motivated, hardworking, and driven individual with a technical background & the interpersonal skills to support business development activities for a wide array of clean energy & sustainability services.
Responsibilities- Generate new leads & lead initial discovery conversations with prospects
- Track & report on all opportunities maintaining a pipeline of opportunities
- Represent NV5's Clean Energy group at conferences
- Facilitate scoping/pricing based on client needs
- Lead contract negotiation & execution process to advance opportunities from leads to active projects
- Clean Energy Industry Experience is a must with a special emphasis on expertise in the Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Microgrids, Electric Vehicle & Charging Infrastructure, and Energy & Sustainability.
- Demonstrated experience in a business development role managing backlog and coordinating with project managers and other technical staff to develop backlog
- Experience in both the public & private commercial sectors, especially with public bidding & contracting procedures, RFP/Qs, etc.
- Ability to work in a technical role grasping technical concepts to drive customer needs, identify opportunities, and offer valuable solutions via our Clean Energy services
- Experience in the CA Solar/BESS market is a plus
- Experience on the developer's side of clean energy projects a plus
- Relevant Clean Energy Industry Certifications are a plus: PE, CEM, Relevant AEE Certificatiosn (CEM, CEA, CMVP, etc.), DBIA,
