Datadog is seeking a Director of Product Management for Core Platforms to lead the internal platforms that power our global engineering organization. This is an internal-first platform leadership role, focused on enabling Datadog engineers to build, scale, and operate products efficiently and reliably.

You will lead a team of 15+ Product Managers, including both Individual Contributors and Group Product Managers, responsible for defining and executing the plans for Datadog’s Core Platforms. These platforms form the foundation of our product development ecosystem, driving developer velocity, platform leverage, and cost-efficient scale across the company.

This role owns the product vision, roadmap, and execution for critical platform capabilities while partnering closely with senior engineering leadership to ensure Datadog continues to operate at hyper-scale with high reliability and strong economic discipline.

Your scope includes Datadog’s core data platforms driving large-scale ingesting, transformation and storage and also internal developer platforms, emerging capabilities such as AI-assisted development and modern data architectures, and the foundational compute, storage, and networking services that power Datadog’s datacenters and enable reliable, cost-efficient scale.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive Platform Adoption: Partner with engineering and product teams to ensure widespread adoption of shared platforms and Golden Paths, reducing duplication and accelerating delivery.
  • Improve Operational Efficiency: Improve developer velocity, time-to-production, and operational efficiency across Datadog’s engineering ecosystem.
  • Drive Cost and Margin Efficiency: Drive infrastructure cost efficiency, margin protection, and sustainable unit economics by maximizing platform reuse and standardization.
  • Define and Track Success Metrics: Define and track platform success metrics, including adoption of platform capabilities, reduction in internal toil, time-to-production improvements, cost efficiency per workload, and the percentage of new products built on shared platform primitives.
  • Lead and Scale the Organization: Build, mentor, and develop a multi-layer organization of Product Managers and Group Product Managers, including org design, talent development, and succession planning.

Who You Are:

  • Experience: 10+ years of B2B SaaS Product Management experience, including 5+ years leading and scaling teams of Product Managers.
  • Platform Product Leader: Proven track record leading large-scale internal platforms serving broad engineering organizations, with clear ownership of direction, roadmap, and outcomes.
  • Technical Foundation: Strong technical background with the ability to partner deeply with senior engineering leaders, make informed tradeoffs, and guide complex platform decisions.
  • Data-Driven Operator: Experienced in defining and using meaningful metrics to drive platform adoption, efficiency, and business impact.
  • Execution-Oriented: Known for clarity of priorities, disciplined product thinking, and a bias toward action in complex, ambiguous environments.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Relevant technical understanding of cloud-native architectures, data infrastructure (NoSQL, SQL, in-memory stores), and compute/storage/networking concepts.
  • Clear Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and align cross-functional teams.

Benefits and Growth:

  • Generous and competitive global and US benefits
  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan
  • Continuous career development and pathing opportunities
  • Product training to develop an in-depth understanding of our product and space
  • Internal mentor and buddy program cross-departmentally
  • Friendly and inclusive workplace culture
