About This Role:

We’re looking for a full-time Director of Security to join our Security team reporting to the Chief Security Officer. This role is a remote role based in the USA.

In this role, you'll play a key role in protecting Gainsight's infrastructure and clients' data by developing and managing information security strategies, leading a team of cybersecurity professionals, and owning compliance, security architecture, and identity management. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a strategic leadership role within a SaaS environment and enjoys working cross-functionally with teams like Engineering, IT, and Security. The ideal candidate brings strong skills in security architecture, compliance frameworks, and technical security leadership.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement the organization's IT security strategy, policies, and procedures.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability tests to identify potential security threats and develop strategies to mitigate them.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, SOC2, etc.

  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on the organization's IT security posture, including insights, recommendations, and metrics.

What We're Looking For:

  • 7+ years of Security Leadership

  • 10+ years of experience with compliance, security engineering, identity management and security architecture

  • Technical Security Leadership

  • Led and managed a team of IT security professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the effective execution of security initiatives.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical executive audiences.

  • Strong presentation, storytelling, and influencing skills.

Nice-to-have Skills:

  • Experience managing a security team in a SaaS environment

  • Managed IT in addition to security teams

  • Security Certifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM etc.)

Our Compensation and Benefits: At Gainsight, we believe great work happens when teammates feel fully supported.

  • The starting base salary range for this role is $180,000 – $225,000 USD annually. This role is also eligible for commission based on performance and participation in Gainsight’s equity program. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as skills, experience, and location.

  • We offer a comprehensive benefits package including fully covered medical premiums (employee-only), flexible PTO, 401(k) plan, dental and vision coverage, and remote work options.
