About Zilliz
Zilliz is building the next generation of data infrastructure for AI. Founded in 2017 by the creators of Milvus, one of the world's most popular open-source vector databases, we help developers and enterprises build, deploy, and scale AI-powered applications, from semantic search and RAG to emerging agentic AI workloads.
Backed by $113 million in funding from leading global investors, Zilliz has established a strong presence in the AI infrastructure market. Milvus has earned over 46,000 GitHub stars, and our technology has reached more than 10,000 enterprise users worldwide. Companies including OpenEvidence, Exa, and Filevine rely on Zilliz Cloud to power their AI applications.
Building on our roots in vector database technology, we're expanding Zilliz Cloud into a broader AI data platform with Zilliz Vector Lakebase. As AI continues to reshape how applications are built and how data is used, we're focused on making the underlying infrastructure more powerful, scalable, and accessible to organizations worldwide.
About the Role
We're looking for an Events & Operations Specialist to help plan and execute Zilliz's marketing and community events, while also supporting selected internal operations.
You'll work closely with our Marketing, Sales, and Developer Relations teams to coordinate everything from developer meetups and customer events to industry conferences and trade shows. This is a hands-on role that involves working with both internal teams and external partners to keep projects organized and events running smoothly.
We're looking for someone who's organized, dependable, and comfortable taking initiative. You should enjoy working with different people, solving problems as they come up, and finding ways to improve how things get done. Events will be your primary focus, with a smaller portion of the role dedicated to internal operational and administrative support.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate the planning and execution of developer meetups, community gatherings, sales events, conferences, and trade shows, primarily across North America and Europe.
- Manage event logistics, including registration, attendee communications, venue arrangements, vendors, materials, and on-site coordination.
- Work with Marketing, Sales, and DevRel teams to understand event objectives, coordinate resources, and ensure activities are delivered on schedule.
- Maintain event timelines, budgets, and task lists, follow up with stakeholders, and address issues that could affect execution.
- Coordinate with external vendors, venues, speakers, and partners throughout the event planning process.
- Contribute ideas to improve event formats, attendee engagement, and the overall event experience.
- Support post-event activities, including attendee follow-ups, lead coordination, feedback collection, and basic performance reporting.
- Assist with day-to-day operational and administrative tasks.
- Help coordinate internal meetings, team activities, and other operational needs as they arise.
- Support improvements to internal processes and team coordination where needed.
