Own both accounting and FP&A for a high-growth AI company: lead monthly and quarterly close, manage AP/AR and cash/treasury, ensure audit readiness, build scalable accounting systems, create financial models and long-term plans, model GPU/compute economics, and prepare board/investor materials.
The summary above was generated by AI

We are looking for a finance generalist who can be the financial backbone of a high-growth AI company. You will own both the accounting close process and FP&A work, operating across functions that larger organizations typically staff separately.

What You'll Do

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Own the full monthly and quarterly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements

  • Ensure audit-readiness and maintain good financial hygiene

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Oversee cash and treasury operations, including cash positioning and forecasting

  • Build and maintain scalable accounting systems and processes as the company grows

  • Familiarity with AI tools, research-heavy industries, and AI hardware accounting is a plus

FP&A & Strategic Finance

  • Build and maintain financial models (including long-term model) to support planning, budgeting, and decision-making

  • Own the annual plan and rolling forecasts across the business

  • Model compute and GPU economics - understanding the unit economics of AI infrastructure is core to this role

  • Prepare financial analyses and board/investor materials

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years of finance experience at a high-growth technology company with significant hardware and R&D costs, ideally in a role that spans both accounting and FP&A

  • Strong accounting foundation. You can close the books, pass an audit, and explain a balance sheet without a cheat sheet

  • Fluency in financial modeling and planning

  • Background in investment banking or strategic finance is a plus, but only if paired with hands-on accounting experience

  • Experience working with compute-heavy or GPU-intensive businesses, or a demonstrated ability to quickly get up to speed on the economics of AI infrastructure

  • Comfort operating in both the weeds (month-end close) and at altitude (board-level financial narratives)

  • High ownership mentality - this is a role for someone who moves without being asked and flags issues before they become problems

Why Humans&

  • Work directly on problems at the frontier of AI with a founding team that has shipped products used by billions of people

  • Be the first finance hire - own the function and shape how it grows

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
