About Aonic

Aonic is deploying AI to drastically reduce the cost of living. We are building Aonic Club: the club contract Costco proved over four decades, rebuilt online and AI-native - an annual membership that gets Americans elevated everyday products at cost, starting with functional nutrition.

We make the products ourselves and run sourcing, content, forecasting and service with AI agents, which deletes the 30-40% of retail and marketing layers inside every consumer price. The savings go to members, not margins: under Kirkland wherever Costco competes, and on average 80% below the brands.

Our ambition is extreme: 1 million members and a $10 billion company within a few years, built by a handful of humans with extreme leverage - AI agents running the operations, a community as the channel, and the AI dividend delivered to everyday America.

The Role

As our Founding Full-Stack Engineer, you will own engineering and empower all functions at Aonic.

Your first job is to build the Aonic Club membership MVP on our Shopify + Recharge stack so we can launch our membership model by October 1st. Then you own the rest: the consumer app, the agents that run our operations, the data they learn from, storefront health, and privacy/compliance.

This role is intentionally broad and demanding. It is designed for an engineer who has already shipped a consumer product and wants maximum ownership.

We need someone who has put software in front of real customers and who can also set up agents, evals, and internal tools.

What You’ll Work On

Aonic Club MVP
  • Build the Aonic Club web application on our existing Shopify + Recharge stack. You will own maintenance and improvements after launch.
  • Monitor and optimize page speed, app performance, and third-party script/pixel behavior across the storefront. Ensure tracking and consent tools stay properly configured and compliant with privacy regulations (CPRA and similar)

Own engineering
  • Architecture, stack choices, security, vendor and contractor decisions, and the databases behind the club.

Consumer app
  • Lead development of our React Native app from ground zero after the membership MVP is live. iOS first. The website converts; the app is where we build out our community.

Agents, automation & systems
  • Build LLM-powered agents and internal tools that run unattended in production - with evals, monitoring, and a human-in-the-loop where it matters

AI, Automation & Systems
  • Leverage AI, automation, and low-code tools to improve speed and quality of execution across all functions.
  • Build internal tools, scripts, and workflows that reduce manual work.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to replace effort with systems.

Special Projects
  • Tackle high-priority, ad-hoc problems directly with the CEO. Move fluidly between product, and infrastructure decisions.

Hard Requirements

To be successful in this role, all of the following must be true:
  • You have shipped a consumer product as an engineer. An app/digital product that real customers used.
  • You have proven full-stack ability in production. Native in TypeScript/React, node/python + track record of shipping fast and reliable code with AI tools
  • Degree from a top-tier university in engineering, science, math, or a related field, or the equivalent in shipped work.
  • Extremely hungry and ambitious, actively seeking responsibility and steep growth.
  • Strong work ethic and intensity, comfortable operating in an environment that works 8–7 on Monday to Thursday and 8-5 on Fridays.

The Profile We’re Looking For

This role requires a rare mix of traits:
  • Book-smart: Strong academic foundation and structured thinking.
  • Street-smart: Practical judgment, prioritization, and commercial intuition.
  • Roll up your sleeves: No task is beneath you. We are on an ambitious mission and need everyone on the team to do what it takes to achieve our goals.
  • People-smart: Able to work across functions without ego and communicate clearly.
  • AI-native: Naturally reaches for AI and automation as a first instinct.
  • High-agency: Sees problems, takes ownership, and executes without waiting.
  • Taste: Design quality is why we can compete with Costco’s native brand Kirkland.
  • Content-native (preferred): As a bonus you love to generate content and ride with us the wave of authentic storytelling.
