About the company

Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join a very small engineering group as an early hire, working across the front end, back end and infrastructure of a customer-facing software product. You will ship features, diagnose production issues and help set technical standards for future engineers. Expect broad ownership with little prescribed structure.

What you'll do

- Build and ship features across the full stack, from user interface to backend services.

- Develop and refine systems built on large language models, including conversation flow, tool use and voice.

- Prototype adaptive interface components and turn ideas into working demos quickly.

- Build and maintain an evaluation pipeline that measures output quality and catches regressions.

- Investigate production issues by reviewing logs, tracing root causes, rolling back changes and adding tests.

- Design infrastructure for versioning and safe previewing of changes before release.

- Create low-latency, reliable infrastructure so users get instant responses.

- Take on whatever work is needed, including UI fixes, data migration scripts and customer issue debugging.

- Help establish engineering culture and practices as the team grows.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- Prior full stack engineering work at a growing software startup that has paying users.

- A track record of designing polished interfaces and shipping product features that users directly interact with.

- Working proficiency in React and Python.

- Hands-on delivery of AI-powered features in production, such as LLM-driven assistants, retrieval pipelines or orchestration layers.

- A bachelor's degree in computer science.

- Comfort with ambiguity and a strong sense of ownership.

- Good product instincts and enthusiasm for turning user feedback into code.

- Sound judgment about when work is ready to ship, and the ability to move quickly without creating hidden problems.

- Experience running systems that real users depend on, and an understanding of how they fail.

- Interest in closing the gap between a demo and a reliable production system through evaluation and iteration.

Bonus points

- Experience at a sales technology startup.
