About the company

Our client is a software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the design and delivery of software features across the stack with a backend emphasis, starting from early customer discussions and continuing through release. Partner directly with business customers to understand their needs, keep systems dependable as usage grows, and help shape the product direction and engineering culture.

What you'll do

- Build and ship features across frontend, backend, data infrastructure and cloud deployment.

- Take features from the first customer conversation through release and iteration.

- Develop dependable automated workflows, testing and evaluation tooling, and data pipelines, with safeguards that keep system actions traceable and safe.

- Design data schemas for large, complex datasets.

- Act as the main technical contact for a business customer, understanding needs, supporting adoption and demonstrating value in pilot projects.

- Set engineering practices that will guide a growing team and contribute to the product roadmap.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- 1 to 4 years of experience, or an exceptional recent graduate.

- Full-stack ability with a backend lean, able to turn a spec into near-production software independently.

- Fluency in Python or TypeScript, plus experience with a relational database such as Postgres.

- A solid computer science foundation, including data storage, system design and large-scale service architecture.

- Experience deploying applications to a major cloud platform.

- An eye for design and a commitment to a polished user interface.

- A strong sense of accountability, humility and openness to candid feedback.

- A history of starting projects on your own initiative, whether personal, academic or commercial.

- Clear communication with customers and a willingness to learn a new industry domain.

- Ambition to eventually lead a team and a collaborative, in-person working style.

Bonus points

- Background in competitive programming, olympiads or quantitative trading.

- Prior experience as a startup founder.
