The opportunity

Our client is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help build and scale a healthcare technology platform serving patients and healthcare providers across the U.S. You will work across the frontend and backend to deliver reliable, accessible, and maintainable product experiences, while contributing to architecture, technical decisions, testing, and production support. You will have meaningful ownership over features from development through deployment and work closely with Product, Design, Quality Engineering, and other technical stakeholders to continuously improve the platform.

About the organization

Our client is a U.S.-focused healthcare technology company operating a telemedicine platform across all 50 states. The platform enables patients and healthcare providers to connect through digital healthcare experiences, with a strong focus on reliability, accessibility, security, and ease of use. The engineering team is building and evolving a modern product environment where engineers have significant ownership over both technical implementation and product outcomes.

The client name will be shared with shortlisted candidates before the client interview.

What you will do
  • Build and maintain frontend and backend features across the platform using React, TypeScript, Python, and related technologies.
  • Own features end-to-end, from understanding requirements and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Design, build, and maintain REST APIs and integrations with internal and third-party services.
  • Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, contributing to schema design, queries, and performance optimization.
  • Review existing code and architecture, identify weaknesses, and implement improvements to maintainability, reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure product quality and reduce regressions.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards, design patterns, and development best practices.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues, using strong debugging and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement durable solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Quality Engineering, and other stakeholders to translate business and user needs into practical technical solutions.
  • Break larger technical initiatives into actionable tasks and contribute to implementation planning and technical documentation.
  • Communicate technical decisions, architecture, risks, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support and mentor other engineers while contributing to a strong engineering culture and high standards of code quality.

Requirements What you bring
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of building and supporting production software.
  • Strong hands-on experience with React and TypeScript, including building maintainable and responsive web applications.
  • Professional experience with Python, ideally using Flask, FastAPI, or a similar web framework.
  • Strong backend development experience, ideally with Node.js or another modern backend technology.
  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database, including schema design, querying, and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of HTML and CSS, including their role in building reliable and accessible web applications.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs and third-party integrations.
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, and maintainable code.
  • Experience with code reviews, technical feedback, and engineering best practices.
  • Ability to work across the full development lifecycle and take ownership of production features.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, including investigating and resolving production issues.
  • Ability to work effectively with Product, Design, Quality Engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts and trade-offs clearly.
  • Willingness to mentor and support other engineers and contribute to improving overall engineering standards.
Helpful, but not essential
  • Experience working in healthcare technology, telemedicine, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience building patient-facing, clinician-facing, or other high-trust applications.
  • Experience with web accessibility standards and accessible application development.
  • Experience working in a high-growth startup or product environment.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Experience working with sensitive or regulated user data.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production applications.
Benefits
How the engagement works

This is a full-time contract role with a confidential healthcare technology client operating a telemedicine platform across all 50 U.S. states. The role is remote, with candidates in the MENA region preferred.

Day to day, you will work closely with the client's Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders, contributing across the full software development lifecycle.

The hiring process begins with a conversation with the client to discuss your experience, technical background, and mutual expectations.

Candidates then complete a short, scoped technical exercise designed to reflect practical engineering work they would encounter in the role.

The final stage is a technical interview with the engineering team, focused on software architecture, problem-solving, hands-on development experience, and technical judgment.

For a consultant/contractor engagement, your work will be based on the agreed scope and deliverables. You are expected to provide your own laptop and basic equipment, maintain reliable connectivity and a secure working environment, and follow required security controls, including two-factor authentication.
