Our Mission

Fuel customer growth through meaningful, intelligent, and safe user-to-user (and now, user-to-agent) engagement.

CometChat Overview

CometChat is a full-stack conversational platform built to unify every layer of interaction — bringing together real-time conversations (chat, messaging, voice, and video), AI Agents, moderation, notifications, and analytics in one modular, developer-first solution. Our latest product brings conversational AI to commerce — built for the high-transaction verticals where conversation directly drives retention and revenue.

Our company has seen rapid growth, thanks to several market validations — including our participation in Techstars Boulder Accelerator in 2019, followed by investments from experienced investors including a Series A round. We were also recognized on Forbes' 2026 America's Top 500 Startup Employers list — a reflection of the team and culture we've been deliberate about building.

We believe the interface of the future is conversation — not clicks. That's why we're building the infrastructure for the world's AI-powered conversations — from human-to-human, to human-to-agent, to multi-party collaboration with AI in the mix.

Why Join Us Now

We're at the tipping point where AI becomes a native part of every conversation — and we're at the tipping point as a company. Our conversational AI for commerce is entering pilot. We're ready to put a real GTM engine behind it.

You'll be the first dedicated GTM hire. Not the tenth. The first. That means you'll define the playbook, not inherit one. You'll close deals personally. You'll own positioning, demand, sales motion, partner strategy, and the dashboards that hold it all accountable. You'll work directly with the founders and executive team.

If you've spent the last few years as the most strategic operator on a small GTM team and you're ready to run the function — this is that role.

What we mean by AI-native and Why

AI-native here means you build with agents by default. We expect the production layer of your GTM work — research, sourcing, outbound, content drafting, analysis, reporting — to be agent-generated, while you own everything that actually matters: ICP definition, positioning, messaging, deal judgment, customer relationships, and the number.

This is not "AI-curious." You wield Claude and whatever else makes you effective. You've wired workflows that do real work for you. You can articulate where AI helps and where it falls short, with specific examples.

GTM is changing permanently, and we are leaning all the way in. You will operate at a level of leverage that wasn't possible 18 months ago — running outbound, content, and analysis loops that used to require a five-person team. You will get access to whatever AI tools you need, and the freedom to use them aggressively. If you want to operate at the edge of how modern GTM gets done and define what good looks like, this role is built for that.

Work Location

Denver or San Fransisco preferred — we are based in Denver with a small footprint that we are building. This role will start mostly remote, with periodic in-person work as the team grows. Open to candidates in other US geographies for the right person.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Go-to-Market Lead to build, run, and own the GTM function at CometChat. You will be a player-coach: setting strategy, then personally executing it. For the foreseeable, you are also our primary seller — until you've built the case for the first AE.

What you'll own

  • Define and execute our end-to-end GTM strategy across sales, marketing, partnerships, and customer expansion
  • Personally carry the bag: own pipeline generation and revenue outcomes
  • Sharpen ICP and positioning through customer and prospect conversations
  • Build the demand-gen engine — content, outbound, paid, events, community, partner — and pick what wins
  • Develop sales collateral, support pricing experiments, and the write the early playbook so the next hire ramps in weeks, not quarters
  • Establish GTM metrics, dashboards, and an operating cadence that gives the founders confidence in where revenue is coming from
  • Partner with Product on signal from customers and prospects — you're the loudest voice for the buyer in our roadmap conversations

Prioritized Experiences and Capabilities

  • 5–7 years in B2B SaaS GTM, with real reps in both sales and marketing — even if your last title was in one
  • AI-native: daily user of agentic tools in your workflow; can show your work
  • Has been the first or among the first GTM hires at a previous startup, OR led a function
  • Strong written communication and analytical instincts — you can write the email, build the dashboard, and read the data
  • Comfortable being the only GTM person for 6–12 months
  • Track record of taking a 0-to-1 GTM motion and getting it to repeatability

Good to have

  • Experience selling into e-commerce or CX-focused companies — our top two customer segments
  • Has worked at or sold an AI-forward product
  • Experience with API/SDK products

Compensation (Denver)

We publish our comp transparently.  This range may change depending on candidate location.

  • Base salary: $130,000–$170,000
  • Bonus: $25,000–$50,000 annual target
  • Equity
  • Health, dental, vision; take what you need PTO

Here are the values that act as a guardrail of our execution culture

Go above and beyond for the customer: We are obsessed with ensuring every customer is taken care of, no matter how big or small they are. We truly believe their problems are our problems, and will stop at next to nothing to see them succeed.

Be relentless: Never stop innovating. Be relentless in trying new things, and improving our product. Challenge the status quo, embrace learning curves, and don't be afraid to fail. Focus on the outcome and everything else will fall into place.

Be curious: Practice empathy. Anticipate customer needs, and solve them before they get there. If you don't understand something, ask questions and learn.

Have fun: Laugh. Be positive and kind. Make people feel good. Life is too short to not spend time doing what you love with folks you enjoy being around.
