Market & Treasury Risk Management (MTRM) team, under the guidance of the Chief Market & Treasury Risk Officer, within the Risk Management organization is responsible for the second line of defense independent risk management for the market risk (banking book and trading book), liquidity risk and capital. MTRM oversees interest rate risk (IRR), liquidity risk, investment portfolio, derivatives hedging portfolio, and capital management activities. The team performs a broad range of analysis and provides independent perspective for business activities and strategies. 

The individual in this role will report to the Sr. Director – Head of Capital and Liquidity Risk Oversight. The incumbent is responsible for providing leadership, governance, and independent oversight of the firm’s capital adequacy, capital planning, stress testing, risk weighted assets (RWA) and capital risk management activities. This role ensures compliance with regulatory expectations while supporting safe and sound balance sheet and capital management. The incumbent is expected to lead initiatives, guide associates that perform a broad range of analysis to support and be the subject‑matter expert in capital management.  

The Capital Oversight Manager leverages finance and risk management expertise combined with advanced mathematical knowledge, analysis, partnerships, and business knowledge to provide solutions to predictive and prescriptive questions such as “What will happen next?” and “What will we do?”. Projects undertaken by the Quant Analytics Manger are often broad in scope across multiple business segments and/or risk disciplines and involve guiding a team and/or project through providing solutions to business problems leveraging statistics, best practices or emerging techniques, and quantitative tools / techniques. Success factors include: Demonstrating leadership through strong communication skills, addressing conflict, coaching others on developing technical skills; managing competing priorities and presenting holistic, thoughtful analyses to answer partners’ problem statements; prioritizing multiple projects and managing to tight deadlines; establishing reputation as an effective and collaborative partner; Communicating technical theories, observations, and models to a non-technical audience; Leveraging knowledge of strategy, business, and competition to connect day-to-day work of team to the “bigger picture” and driving efficiency in solution delivery 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

Capital Oversight & Governance 

  • Provide independent oversight of the firm’s capital management framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite. 
  • Oversee capital adequacy assessments, capital forecasting, and capital buffer management across baseline and stress scenarios. 
  • Assess the robustness of capital methodologies, assumptions, limitations, and controls related to stress testing, CCAR, and internal capital processes. 

Stress Testing & CCAR 

  • Lead oversight of the firm’s regulatory and internal stress-testing programs, including CCAR and enterprise stress tests. 
  • Review stress-testing scenarios, capital actions, projections, and key outputs to ensure they are well-supported, reasonable, and regulator-ready. 
  • Provide effective challenge to stress-testing assumptions, scenarios, and sensitivities, partnering with other risk disciplines as needed. 

Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA) 

  • Oversee governance and monitoring of RWA calculations, drivers, and trends across business lines. 
  • Review RWA methodologies and changes related to regulatory updates or business changes. 

Leadership & Management 

  • Directly manage and develop a team of capital oversight professionals, providing coaching, performance management, and career development. 
  • Set clear objectives, prioritize initiatives, and ensure high-quality deliverables across the team. 

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting 

  • Partner with Finance, Treasury, Model Risk, Credit Risk, Enterprise Risk, and senior management to drive strong capital governance. 
  • Prepare and present capital oversight materials to senior management and internal governance committees. 
  • Interact with regulators on capital-related matters, including examinations, inquiries, and ongoing supervision. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Master’s degree (or its equivalent) in finance, accounting, statistics, mathematics, economics, financial engineering, data sciences, predictive modeling, or other quantitative disciplines and at least 5 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) in finance, accounting statistics, mathematics, economics, financial engineering, data sciences, predictive modeling, or other quantitative disciplines and at least 6 years of relevant experience

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $116,000.00 - $216,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
