About Nearby AI

Nearby AI is a new company from NewsBreak building a trust-first marketplace for local home services. We help homeowners understand a problem, what it should reasonably cost, and whether to hire at all before they are connected to a provider, and we help service providers win work on fit and outcomes rather than on speed of contact.

Our mission: give people clarity and control from the first sign of a problem to a job done right, and give good contractors work they are equipped to win.

We are a small founding team. We work from evidence, keep a written record of decisions, and hold a short set of product principles we do not trade for revenue: no pay-for-rank, no sharing of customer contact information beyond what the customer approved, and no quality claims we cannot substantiate.

The problem you will own

A new consumer marketplace has to be found before it can be trusted. You will build the acquisition engine for Nearby AI in three stages: bootstrap demand through our partner distribution, build the owned organic and AI-search channels a standalone company needs, and lead the public launch of the brand when the product has earned it.

Our most defensible growth asset is proprietary, structured local data that no incumbent can publish. Turning that data into content that search engines reward and AI assistants cite is the center of this role. Doing it with editorial integrity, rather than as content at volume, is a requirement of both the search landscape and the brand.

Responsibilities
  • Define and run the growth strategy and the experimentation program that supports it, with measurement tied to marketplace outcomes rather than traffic.
  • Own performance marketing across native, social, and partner inventory, including creative development and testing at scale.
  • Design, build, and operate a programmatic SEO program on proprietary structured data, with editorial standards and a plan for durability through search-engine changes.
  • Own AI-search visibility: how the company's content is discovered, retrieved, and cited by AI assistants, and how that is measured.
  • Partner with engineering on lifecycle marketing: email, messaging, and event-triggered engagement, within the company's consent principles.
  • Plan and lead the public brand launch, including positioning, PR, and initial brand investment.
  • Build and lead the growth team as the company scales.
Qualifications

Required

  • 8+ years in growth or marketing, including several years owning an organic acquisition channel end to end.
  • Built and operated a large programmatic SEO program on genuine per-location or per-entity data, and can show how it performed through recent major search updates.
  • Grew an organic channel materially, with attribution you can defend.
  • Used generative AI in production for content or page assembly, and can articulate exactly where editorial control and quality gates sit.
  • Measured AI-search visibility (citations in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, or Google AI answers) for at least one property and moved it.
  • Managed a seven-figure annual performance-marketing budget on native or social feed inventory, including creative testing at volume.
  • Managed direct reports or led a cross-functional pod.
  • A record of owning a business number and of changing course when the data said so.

Preferred

  • Experience in home services, local services, or another regulated lead-generation category, including its advertising-compliance constraints.
  • Two-sided marketplace growth, where supply and demand had to be built together.
  • Led a consumer brand launch end to end.
  • Working SQL and hands-on experiment design and analysis.
