Our Mission and Opportunity

Early education is one of the most important determinants of childhood outcomes, a critical support for working families, and a $175B market that remains underserved by modern technology. Brightwheel is the largest, fastest growing, and most loved platform in early ed, trusted by millions of educators and families every day. We are a three-time Cloud 100 company, backed by top investors including Addition, Bessemer, Emerson Collective, Lowercase Capital, Notable Capital, and Mark Cuban.

Our Team

Our team is passionate, talented, and customer-focused. We embody our Leadership Principles in our work and culture. We are a distributed team with remote employees across every US time zone, as well as select offices in the US and internationally.

Who You Are

As brightwheel’s Head of Marketing, you’ll own the full marketing function — content, demand generation, lifecycle, and product marketing — at a company that’s become the category leader in early education technology. We’re looking for a builder who has scaled B2B demand gen engines, developed managers-of-managers, and uses an AI-first approach as a structural advantage in how they run a team to drive step-change growth. You think in systems, move with urgency, and can hold brand vision and pipeline accountability in the same hand. This is a huge opportunity to do your best work at a company with a real mission and a massive market in front of it.

What You’ll Do / Scope of Work

  • Own the full marketing function — brand, demand gen, lifecycle, and product marketing — with direct accountability for pipeline contribution and revenue impact

  • Build the marketing function and its operating model from first principles — not inherited playbooks. Rethink how brand, demand gen, lifecycle, and product marketing should run in an AI-native company, then architect the team, systems, and workflows to match

  • Create and scale the demand generation engine that sources qualified pipeline for Sales across SMB and mid-market segments

  • Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team and use AI as a structural multiplier — from content at scale to attribution modeling to campaign optimization

  • Define and evolve brightwheel’s brand positioning, market narrative, and category strategy to drive awareness and trust with childcare operators

  • Partner with Sales and RevOps to align GTM strategy, pipeline targets, and go-to-market motions; lead product marketing launches, messaging, and sales enablement that help the team win

What You’ve Done

  • Led marketing as VP or Head of Marketing at a high-growth B2B SaaS company, managing managers and a team of 10+ across brand, demand gen, lifecycle, and product marketing

  • Demonstrated genuine AI fluency: re-engineered marketing workflows using AI with documented efficiency and quality gains (AI score of 3 or 4 required)

  • Built and scaled demand gen engines from scratch — with measurable impact on pipeline, CAC, and payback period

  • Partnered closely with Sales and RevOps in a high-velocity GTM environment with shared pipeline accountability and tight SLA agreements

  • Built, developed and retained elite marketing talent as a manager of managers, with a track record of building high-performance cultures through clear expectations and feedback

This role is not a fit if…

  • You are primarily a brand or comms marketing leader without direct ownership of demand gen, pipeline, and revenue outcomes

  • Haven't fundamentally changed how your team operates using AI — we're not looking for someone who uses AI personally; we're looking for someone who has rebuilt how a marketing function runs because of it

  • You have only managed individual contributors — this role requires experience building and leading managers across multiple marketing functions

  • You are exclusively from agency backgrounds without in-house B2B or B2C SaaS GTM accountability

  • You need a fully built playbook to execute or prefer teams that are in “maintenance mode” — we're looking for a builder who creates the engine and systems, not someone who runs an inherited one

  • Prefer to operate at altitude only — this role requires both strategic vision and the natural ability to dive into the details, and execute to move things forward
