About the company
Our client is a fast-growing software company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Establish a first outbound sales function as a hands-on player-coach, personally generating and closing business while documenting the approach a larger team will later follow. Over time, you will recruit and manage sales representatives.
What you'll do
- Personally source new prospects, hold early conversations with buyers, negotiate terms and close deals.
- Develop a documented, repeatable sales approach covering messaging, handling pushback and process, so new hires can ramp quickly.
- Engage business-side leaders in marketing, digital and commercial functions rather than technical buyers.
- Take responsibility for quarterly revenue goals and keep pipeline activity visible and well maintained in the CRM.
- Recruit and manage a first account executive, then grow a small team once the approach has proven itself.

- Previous tenure leading sales at an early-stage company.
- Demonstrated ability to create outbound sales playbooks that others can repeat, spanning outreach, messaging, pricing and objection handling.
- Disciplined CRM habits and solid forecasting and pipeline management skills, ideally with HubSpot.
- Readiness to carry out front-line selling tasks yourself for a prolonged period before handing them off.
- Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to be in the San Francisco office three days a week.
Bonus points
- Background selling to business-side leaders rather than engineering buyers.
- Career progression from an entry-level sales role into leadership, including hiring and developing reps.
- Exposure to longer, larger-value enterprise sales cycles.
