About Suno

We're building the world's first creative entertainment platform, where the entire world can feel the joy and fulfillment of making music. Music is for everyone: Our users include everyone from grandmothers creating songs for their loved ones, to Grammy winners using Suno Studio, our power tool, to make the most popular hits in the world.

Building the future of entertainment requires ambition. The pace is fast, the problems are hard, and the work demands ownership and intensity. For the right people, it’s incredibly rewarding: a chance to shape a new medium, work with a small team that cares deeply about quality, make music, drink too much coffee, and build something that millions of people use to express themselves in ways that were never before possible.

Suno is the fastest growing consumer entertainment company and the leader in AI music. We are backed by leading investors including Bond Capital, Menlo Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, IVP, Forerunner, Union Square Ventures, Alkeon, Quiet, Matrix Partners, Schroders Capital and, NVentures (venture arm of NVIDIA).

About the Role

Suno is hiring its very first Director of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement. Suno is one of the fastest-growing AI-native companies in the world, and as our first sourcing hire your job is simple: get us better deals and ensure we’re partnering with the right vendors.

This is a multi-faceted, hands-on role: you’ll serve as a strategic partner to all of Suno’s teams in thinking through what technology strategy best meets our needs; be our primary negotiator across our non-headcount spend (cloud, inference, software, etc.); and build the systems that allow us to confidently manage vendor relationships and risks. You’ll decide when to move fast versus when to create healthy friction, partnering closely with Legal, Finance, and Security/IT to get deals done at the best price, terms, and flexibility.

Listen to the song we made about it: https://suno.com/s/F9r6u4N4hN2a99w3

What You’ll Do
  • Work closely with each of Suno’s business teams to define sourcing strategy: who are our key vendors, where do we have gaps where additional tooling could help, and where do we have unintended duplication or unused tools?

  • Partner with every team at Suno to forecast demand, understand technical requirements, evaluate suppliers, and translate our growth into sourcing leverage. Personally negotiate with major vendors and provide tools/techniques for anyone in the company to successfully manage spend.

  • Create intake and vendor contract systems that triage requests for new vendors, manage commitments, and surface renewals based on spend level, risk exposure, and usage. No surprise renewals of unused vendors, please!

  • Work closely with Security/IT and Legal to ensure that security review and legal term review are achieved for relevant vendors.

What You’ll Need
  • Must-haves

    • 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and/or finops, ideally in high-growth technology companies

    • Experience negotiating directly with cloud providers and security/monitoring software with a history of demonstrated cost wins. Experience working with inference providers is highly desirable

    • Ability to partner with a wide variety of internal stakeholders. Can you ask the right question to diagnose over-provisioning of a costly service with the engineering team and also know which legal terms to focus on in an order form and MSA?

    • History of successfully deploying sourcing systems for better collaboration with internal teams and clarity on spend and usage

    • Collaboration, curiosity, and creativity. This not a role for someone who wants to slot into a defined process but rather someone who wants to reimagine what thoughtful sourcing and spend culture can unlock for a company

    • Comfort with ambiguity and high pace. You have a bias towards action over perfection and use AI to empower yourself and others

  • Nice-to-haves

    • Experience setting and managing budgets for office management and real estate buildouts

    • Work at both scrappy startups and scaled organizations. Help us make stage-appropriate decisions and tradeoffs as we grow

    • Experience building and maintaining AI-powered sourcing tools and playbooks for redlining, negotiation prep, benchmarking, and vendor reporting

    • Experience with readiness for IPO

Additional Notes:

  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the US.

  • This role requires working onsite at one of our offices.
