Who We Are

At Serval, we're building the AI platform for IT teams. Our goal is to take on legacy players like ServiceNow, a $230+ bn company, by deploying AI agents to resolve IT issues instead of humans.

Serval “automates the automation,” using a natural language-to-code workflow builder and AI agents that discover and deliver automations for tedious IT workflows.

Our mission is to free IT departments from the #helpdesk channel by creating the simplest way to automate employee onboarding/offboarding, software access management, and the long tail of employee requests. Long term, our vision extends to developing a universal workflow automation platform for all business functions.

Serval was founded by product and engineering leaders from Verkada and is backed by industry-leading investors like First Round, General Catalyst, Alt Capital, and Box Group.

Role Overview

As Head of Talent, you’ll build and lead recruiting across all functions — engineering, product, design, go-to-market, and operations — during a phase of rapid growth. You’ll own Serval’s hiring plan end-to-end, designing the systems, processes, and brand that enable us to grow from ~20 to 100+ team members over the next year.

You’ll partner directly with the founders and leadership team to forecast hiring needs, elevate our talent bar, and make Serval a magnet for exceptional builders. This is a highly hands-on role — part player, part coach — for someone who can recruit at a senior level today while building the foundation for tomorrow’s talent team.

What you’ll do
  • Own the company-wide hiring plan — forecast headcount with leadership, prioritize roles, and drive accountability across teams.

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for high-impact roles across technical and non-technical functions.

  • Build scalable hiring infrastructure — implement ATS workflows, interview training, and data-driven dashboards.

  • Partner with founders and function heads to craft compelling job narratives and evaluate top-tier candidates.

  • Develop Serval’s employer brand through content, events, and outbound storytelling that attract elite talent.

  • Mentor and grow recruiting capability, including potential future recruiters or coordinators.

  • Champion candidate experience that reflects Serval’s pace, precision, and values.

  • Track and analyze recruiting metrics to continuously improve quality, speed, and conversion rates.

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of recruiting experience, ideally with 2+ years leading or founding a recruiting function at a high-growth SaaS or tech startup.

  • Proven ability to scale headcount rapidly while maintaining exceptional quality.

  • Experience hiring across technical and GTM disciplines, not just one function.

  • Strong operational skills — capable of building process, infrastructure, and reporting from scratch.

  • A builder’s mindset: scrappy, resourceful, and energized by early-stage ambiguity.

  • Based in or willing to work from our SF HQ, 5 days/week.

Bonus Points
  • Track record of scaling or mentoring recruiting teams.

  • Comfort with recruiting analytics and compensation benchmarking.

What We Offer
  • Impact: Be the driving force behind scaling Serval, shaping the success of our product and company.

  • Growth: Be a founding member of Serval’s talent team. Elevate your career in tandem with Serval’s rapid expansion.

  • Culture: Join a fast-paced team that values velocity, high performance, and fun.

  • Compensation: Top of market salary, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
