Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as an Industrial Engineer based out of Sunnyvale, CA.

The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of automation.

What You’ll get to Do:

  • Utilizes Data Analytics to analyze existing operational processes and develop metrics and reporting to optimize and improve program & operational performance.

  • Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance.

  • Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently.

  • Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints.

  • Develop optimized scheduling tools and align SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints.

  • Communicates requirements, planning, and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams.

  • Must be available on-site to support manufacturing and its schedule of operations.

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.

  • Solid interpersonal and critical thinking skills.

  • Solid presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas.

  • Microsoft Office Excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables, or data visualization software applications.

  • Commitment to ethics and compliance.

  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment.

  • Ability for infrequent travel (<10%).

Basic Qualifications Industrial Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of industrial engineering or manufacturing experience.

  • Experience with SQL, Python, VBA, or other programming languages.

  • Experience with Tableau or other reporting software.

  • Experience monitoring , scheduling, and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server database.

  • U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications Industrial Engineer:

  • Experience with improving manufacturing workflow using optimization, modeling, or simulation methods.

  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience.

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing methods.

  • Experience with SAP S/4 HANA Cloud ERP system.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.

  • 2 years of experience leading project teams.

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
