About the company

Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the infrastructure and platform layer of a software product as the first dedicated infrastructure hire, working closely with the CTO. You will design, build and scale runtime, deployment and monitoring systems, and set the technical standards for the team that follows. Over time the role includes helping recruit engineers and growing into team leadership.

What you'll do

- Own infrastructure and platform engineering end-to-end, from design through production operations.

- Build and scale the runtime environment, including durable execution, isolation and automated recovery.

- Develop the infrastructure that supports automated code workflows running in production.

- Design observability tooling that gives customers clear visibility into their running systems.

- Architect and ship a dedicated-instance edition of the platform that customers can install within their own cloud accounts.

- Set technical patterns for future infrastructure engineers and help hire and lead the team as it grows.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- 3+ years of experience at high-growth startups.

- Experience owning core infrastructure end-to-end at a startup.

- Production Kubernetes experience: operating, scaling and debugging clusters.

- Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure or GCP).

- A degree from a top computer science program, which can be waived if work experience is strong.

- Comfort in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and a habit of shipping to production frequently.

Bonus points

- Background delivering software that runs across several cloud environments or on customer-managed infrastructure.
