About Town

We're an applied AI company building a powerful assistant that makes it easy for anyone to create and use software in their everyday work.

Town starts from who you are. It builds a persistent model of you — your voice, judgment, relationships, priorities — and does real work on your behalf across every tool you use: email, calendar, docs, Slack, CRM. It doesn't wait to be prompted. It observes, learns, and acts. The more you use it, the more it becomes an extension of you.

We most recently raised a $55M Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Forerunner Ventures, First Round Capital, Alt Capital, and Conviction. We work in person in San Francisco's Financial District, five days a week.

About the role

We're looking for a founding iOS engineer to own the Town iOS app end-to-end and make the assistant feel native, fast, and trustworthy on Apple platforms.

You'll build the surfaces where people hand Town their work and watch it act on their behalf. This is a small team, so you'll really own it all end to end: architecture, performance, and polish. Most "AI on iOS" today is a webview wrapper around a chat box. That isn't the bar. The bar is: a user picks up their iPhone, Town does the thing they actually wanted, and it feels like Apple shipped it themselves.

What you'll do
  • Own the Town iOS app end-to-end — architecture, performance, and the details that make it feel native.

  • Build and ship new mobile experiences that let users intuitively and easily hand Town real work and see it done.

  • Raise the bar on reliability, latency, and responsiveness across the app.

  • Work closely with product, design, and backend to turn ambitious ideas into shipped features.

You might thrive here if you...
  • Have experience building high-quality iOS applications in production. Mayve you've even built consumer apps at scale, or taken one from 0-1.

  • Know the Apple ecosystem cold — Xcode, SwiftUI, UIKit, and Swift concurrency.

  • Have owned a complex, business-critical iOS app end-to-end and made real architectural tradeoffs.

  • Care deeply about performance, security, and user experience — you can tell within seconds whether an app was built by people who care.

  • Have strong opinions about how a native app should behave and read the Apple Human Interface Guidelines for fun.

  • Move fast, decide at 70%, and run through walls to find the work.
